If you’re anywhere close to that, hit me up. It’s a fully tricked out DUI with all the extras. Only dived a couple of times...
I was measured last week and believe a new suit has been ordered but thanks.

Re: FS: Aquatica D3S Housing & Nikon D3S Body

That was a FANTASTIC camera back in the day! Probably still beats most out there. We have a bunch of photographers that dive Redondo ThThTh every Thursday night (see the planning section), come on by some time! I'm looking forward to getting back in the water and live less than 5 miles from Redondo...

Re: Any Aquatica Housing owner looking to upgrade to FF Nikon DSLR?

Hi YellowEye, I find the most used lens in Puget Sound is the 105mm Micro Nikkor with the Aquatica Macro Port and extension. I also use the 60mm macro with the same port and no extension if I think I might find some larger critters. I use the Sigma 15mm Fish Eye with the 9.25" glass dome and co...

Any Aquatica Housing owner looking to upgrade to FF Nikon DSLR?

Before I take pictures of the housing and post a FS ad I wanted to check interest in current Aquatica Housing owners happy with the Aquatica system but interested in upgrading to a pro size Nikon FF DSLR. This is a BIG camera body but blazingly fast with great low light capability and video support....

Re: Rat fish frontal tenaculum

I started to wonder what its' intentions were!

the frontal tenaculum is used to
grasp the posterior edge of the pectoral fin of the female to aid in positioning the male during copulation.

Rat fish frontal tenaculum

I was getting in position to take this creatures picture when I noticed a white hand like appendage waving at me from the top of its’ head. I had to do some research since I hadn’t noticed it in other rat fish. “All chimaeroid fishes are oviparous. Males possess elaborate copulatory organs on their ...

I'm a Coug but can appreciate a good team, especially when my image gets published on the cover of a national SI issue. Now all I need is a double truck on "Leading Off" and I can knock off the next item on my bucket list.

3 Tree Point - July 6

A couple dives at three tree point Saturday allowed me to get some cardio in lugging my camera down to the beach and back but little else. The first dive was a learning experience due to the fact that the only reasonable vis was below 65 feet and we barely caught ourselves before we exceeded our no-...

I had a couple dives at Three Tree today hoping to get a few pictures. Look good to me too :-) BTW - Is the 5th shot a cockscomb? I don't know if I have ever noticed a "mohawk" like the one that fella has. I confess I am too new at this game and am just starting to learn the different species that lie beneath the sea. Here is a wider shot that had a hot spot...

Redondo FEB 20

After over a month since my last dive I made the short drive down the hill to Redondo for a nice dive with Bob. I am still new at this game but starting to notice flaws that bother me now where I had been thrilled just to get a shot my first few times out. I think I know what happened and next trip ...

Re: Photo Printing Recommendations

Folks- a question. Have you used a photo printing place to make large (or small I suppose) prints of your underwater pix? If so, what would you recommend for best quality/price? I have some images taken on a trip we were on that I would like to make pretty large to frame and hang in the house. Many...

Re: My guided Redondo Lumpy Tour

Love the lumpie shots, especially the dark guy with the shining eyes, but to me, the winner is the curled-up shaggy mouse nudibranch. The sharpness of the cerrata is amazing! The Shaggy Mouse is definitely one Bob had to point out and even after he did, I wondered what was so interesting. It just l...

My guided Redondo Lumpy Tour

Bob was kind enough to take me on a couple guided Lumpy tours at Redondo Beach this week. The latest outing was Thursday night, January 17th. This was my 4th attempt at underwater photography after a few fails due to the wrong strobe bulkhead on my housing and first attempt with my 105mm macro. I’ve...

Re: Redondo Sea Horse

Quick one that needed very little post processing. The 105 was a good choice Bob; much tougher to focus and find the subject but the shallow DOF and more pleasing Bokeh was well worth it. This could get habit forming. Time to shower and get warm. Thanks Bob! Looks like nwdiveclub.com has cropped my ...

Thanks for the welcome Dusty2.

As a newer diver, I shooting a kit larger then I can handle and I need to keep getting out in order to improve my buoyancy and control. It is a Nikon D3S and I had the Nikkor 60mm AFS on it.
