Cebu Philippines

Not sure if I can do this through the club site, but I'd like to offer a discount on a Cebu Philippines liveaboard to book at someone's discretion. I paid 10989 E for 4 people to go on Seadoors liveaboard in 2018 for a 2020 trip. It was canceled twice due to the pandemic and with family circumstance...

Paid dive opportunity this week/treasure hunt

Friend selling her house on Lake Serene to move to Boston where an expert in her daughter's rare heart condition can provide better care. You could do a huge service to the family, and maybe recover some fun things around the lake after. A paid treasure hunt! What: paid gig. Looking for 2 divers to ...

Re: Cozumel Dive Operator Recommendation?

Probably a little late to weigh in on this, but I have done quite a but of time in Coz/PDC. Aldora is top notch, I also recommend Xoc. Owner there is retired physics professor and insists on training all of his DMs and instructors in regular classes on Marine Biology of the area. New gear, offers la...

Philippines Trip July 2020

Just wanted to extend a warm invitation to my fellow divers to join me in Cebu, Philippines in July 2020 for a wonderful Liveaboard experience on the Seadoors ship. I am running this trip at cost just to get the boat filled with awesome Northwest folks. There is space aboard for divers and non-diver...

Lobster Liveaboard Last Call

Just a reminder that I have some spaces left aboard the Truth Aquatics charter next month. This weekend was the lobster season opener, the largest lobster caught on the Truth was 11.2 lbs! If you can get away to join us, I'd love to have you along! I am carpooling with some folks, if you need gear t...

Columbia River retrieval needed

Fellow Divers, A lady just somehow found my number and called me looking for some help for uncle. Long story short, he was fishing in the Columbia River this weekend and his anchor became entangled in the engine or something went very wrong. His boat sunk with his beloved dog tied to her dog house. ...

12401013_10208303222596219_3266555755393204179_n.jpg Yes, these are my 7 lobsters I caught last November. My first diving trip for lobster. The big one was 7.2 pounds! You can bring home as many as 21 lobsters over 3.25 inches. Anyone interested in joining me over the Veteran's Day weekend to dive ...

Re: Diving in California

I would give a thumbs up to Sundiver out of San Pedro area (near LA). Great operation with super fast boats. Get you out to Catalina in 45 minutes instead of the usual 90 minutes. Trip includes tanks and weights, snacks, lunch, and drinks. , about $100 per day per person.

Re: In Memoriam: Lynne Flaherty (LCF, TSandM)

The legacy we leave is those whom we are able to touch in our short life. Lynn's legacy reaches far and wide, a testament to her generous heart and genuine kindness. So many of us are better divers thanks to her constructive feedback (almost always spoken with sensitivity). I am sure that equestrian...

Re: Diver Missing Near Cape Flattery

Lynne and Peter are kind and patient mentors in our local dive community with a wealth of experience and training. I have learned so much from them, and they are quite literally the last people I thought this could happen to. I can only imagine how difficult the conditions must have been yesterday f...

Just checking in to make sure that you found what you needed here to be ready to go. I am around that week and would love to dive with you if you want to a local buddy. I have some spare gear I am willing to loan too.

Let us know how we can be of support to you while you're in our area!

Re: Weighting Question

Ryan, Just to confirm, my weight requirements are about the same as yours for wet diving. I looked at my notes, looks like I used 28 lbs for my first wet dives in class, but that is always over weighted. I haven't dove around here wet since I first learned. With my drysuit when I was first learning ...

The craptastic internet the last week or so in Mexico prevented me from logging in to see all of these awesome and great suggestions. Re: Hyperbaric trip experience/getting bent call for insight

Thanks, Diverden, I appreciate the insight. I don't know how you avoid climbing the ladder to get on the boat, lol! I am a big fan of not swimming back from the dive site, as a rule, especially if I want to avoid strenuous exertion. I think you're right though, sometimes it can be something very sim...

Re: Hyperbaric trip experience/getting bent call for insight

Yeah, I was pretty much just figuring it was bad luck mostly. I am using an Oceanic Pro Plus 2, which does have a more generous algorithm. Jolie was using the Veo, which is slightly more conservative. Nitrox on these two deep dive days might have been a good idea, but I don't think anyone realized o...

Hyperbaric trip experience/getting bent call for insight

Hi All, My daughter Jolie and I are down in Mexico doing some underwater volunteer work on coral reef assessment and water quality assessment. It has been an amazing time until Sunday. I'd like to hear from all of you knowledgeable people, and maybe we can all learn from her DCI experience. Here's s...

Welcome Sherry!

It takes some courage to get out there diving without a built in dive buddy, so high five! Thanks for the dive at Redondo on Saturday, I hope that we can do it again soon! Keep with it and you'll be an expert in no time. :)

I'd be in, but 12 months notice or so would be best so I can budget the time and money. I'm up for anywhere, really, as dear hubby doesn't dive and I am always in need of a buddy.

Hoping one of my great dive folks might help me figure out this puzzle. I went diving last weekend at the DUI Dog Demo Tour at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Super fun, as always.
