If there is interest, I'd be happy to do this lecture, pretty much any time, any where. It really is a topic that needs to be taught over and over again.
When I first started doing this, Scott Christopher, Koos DuPrez and Bob Bailey were all giving them.
Life does change things.

Selling Gear -- Retiring from Instructing
I've decided I've gotten too old to do OW classes (water is too cold, gear is too heavy!). My late wife and I had accumulated a lot of gear and most of it must go. I'm starting with regs -- ALL would need to be serviced which is why the prices are so low -- I just need to get them out of my garage. ...

Re: Getting Hog regs serviced in the Puget Sound
Al Frazier, servicing as Bubbles Below (yes, it still lives, sort of) will service HOG regs (he did a friend's reg set not too long ago). He works full time for Kenmore Air and does reg service in his "spare" time -- but was very prompt.

Re: entry level gear
OP -- If you haven't yet purchased gear, here are my thoughts on the issue (and worth every penny you are paying for them): a Regulator -- For one's first reg set, I suggest either Scuba Pro or Aqua Lung -- not the high end, not the low end, but the middle (I love the A.L. Titan regs for rec. diving...

Re: In Memoriam: Lynne
Jan -- I saw this on Scubaboard's "Passings" thread (Note -- I can't believe there have been over 80,000 views and it is still, 13 months later, getting new posts).
Could I have a copy of it to print out and frame?
Thank you so much.
It has been a very hard, strange and lonely year.

Downsizing -- Lots of Gear to Go
My place is for sale and I hope that soon I'll be living in a much smaller space -- and that means a LOT of gear needs to move. Lynne and I had acquired quite a bit so it's your turn to get some deals. While the regs are working, I highly recommend having them checked out and/or serviced. Email Pete...

Re: Tiny Female Seeking Wetsuit Advice
My wife was about your size and I'd be willing to give you her wet suits (although not Puget Sound!) and perhaps we could come to agreement on her Fusion dry suit (that is unless the person who currently has it buys it). In case you need other gear (back plate/wing, regs, back up lights, can light, ...

Re: No-knees Dive Training
Sure -- come on and watch -- or the next time I do my private class (looks like Sunday morning, April 17) come watch. There really is no mystery -- the key is that all of the staff need to model "the correct" behavior all the time -- the students just mimic. Unfortunately, the students als...

HP 130s for sale
I'm starting my spring cleaning and downsizing. While I have a lot of gear that needs to go (back plates, wings, first and second stages, etc.) the first up are four (4) HP 130s (NOT doubled). They are all in hydro (7/12, 6/12, 5/12, 7/14) and all have current VIP stickers (and if they don't, I can ...

Re: I R a tech diver now (or some very intense days with Mel Clark!)
The OP wrote: I really don't know if I will do much more serious tech diving or tech training beyond this point, but I do have to say that taking these classes took my skill set (especially buoyancy) to a much higher level and that has made me a much safer recreational diver. To me, that is the key ...

"Instructor" float found at Cove 2 today?
There was a float left on the sidewalk at Cove 2 that I found when I went there this morning (3/15). There was no name but some initials. It sat out until I left this afternoon when I took it into Marinations as a "lost and found." If you forgot your float Sunday feel free to PM me or just...

Re: AL plate sizing - Bad shoulders.
Re the DSS glide system -- it works as advertised. OTOH, I'm not at all sure that would be the best solution for you. I wonder if the following might be a better work-around: Get a Fastex (sp?) clip (male/female) and thread both onto your right shoulder, leaving a few inches of slack when apart whil...
