I believe that is a Scubapro Mk. V with a 109 second stage. I think that they were built back in the late '60s early '70s.

Re: Apex reg service
Bubbles Below in Woodinville does their own overhauls in house and I'm sure that if you wanted to talk to the tech you could he is only 15 feet away from the counter. I just had some regs serviced there and they were the first place that hooked up the reg to the test bench and had me breath from it ...

Re: YES one of the new owners. ( hopefully )
I was able to confirm that this is who I thought it was. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He'll give you the shirt off his back if you need it. He is very passionate about diving and I believe that he will do the absolute best he can. I wish him and his partner well in this busines...

If this is who I think it is then He is a good guy and once he learns the netiquette of NDC he'll fit right in.
Good Luck Norm.

Just called the store and confirmed that this is true however the person on the phone said that they might be relocating to another location in the Everett area later on in the spring of 2010. More to come I'm sure.

Thanks again Laura, Jeff and Barry for one of the best days of diving that I have ever had. Everyone if you have not had the opportunity to experience scooter diving then I suggest you sign up for a Dive Xtra's scooter demo immediately. Until you've hit the trigger on a Cuda and gone warp 8 you don'...

Re: Where to get a Sitech dump valve?
I had the same thing happen to my zipper on my Neo-Z. I thinned some aquaseal with cotol (a little thicker than water) and put on several shallow layers. This is a temporary fix at best.
+1 for Superior Drysuit repair they do an excellent job.

Re: new dive assist board
I envision myself going to Flattery and getting down to the rocks near waters edge and really scoping it out. If it doesn't look like good conditions - I am happy just to have gone, pure and simple. If it looks divable - I am on it! What we are trying to tell you is that you can't get to the water ...

Re: new dive assist board
There is an old saying that goes something like this "you don't know what it is like until you walk a mile in their shoes". Until you actually go to the Neah Bay/Cape Flattery area you do not know what it is like. You cannot get a sense for the landscape from looking at some aerial photogr...

There is a pretty active group of freedivers that have a mail group on Yahoo. Their name is Bottomsounders (http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=bottomsounders). Re: Crabbing for noobs
Pinch top and bottom look at bottom to determine the gender of the crab and if male then measure.
Nets just add complexity and you still have to get the crab out of it.

* Is there a best time of day / night to catch crabs? Not really however high tide seems to be better. * What has been your most effective technique for catching crabs? We hover 5 - 10 feet off the bottom depending on visibility and look for a possible keeper and then swoop down on them. * Do you fi...

Once upon a time there were several lines in place. There was a line from the boat at 130 feet to the troll and a second line from the troll to a log at 100 feet that ran along the bottom and a third line that ran from the troll across the "gap" to the log at 100 feet. We liked to descend ...

FYI a word to the wise I was just at the dive store and overheard another customer talking about the Game Wardens checking out the size of the crab. Recycling old tanks
I have a couple of old tanks in the garage that I want to recycle. They are not usable anymore and I don't want to make them into yard art. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can take them? It would be nice to get a few bucks for them (scrap value) if possible.
Thanks,
Mike

This thread reminds me of the time I was diving off of a friend's boat and his 15 year old son was the boat tender. We were diving an ebb tide in the Scatchet Head area. We did our dive and when we came up the boat was no where to be seen. The boat tender had done an excellent job of staying on the ...

We went to Hat Island reef on Memorial day. There is usually very little current at that site and on Monday there was a 15 foot exchange and the current was virtually nonexistent. There were 4 boats anchored fishing and another group of divers there that day. The viz is bad and I mean BAD from the s...
