Let me know if you figure it out I don't have time to download the files right now. Did you find anything else to put on your map last night?

S’mike, I am glad to see someone else is interested in taking the time to create more detailed maps of some popular dive sites. Are you working on your Dive master? I looked into sketchup at one time but it looks hard to use. I was not aware you could overlay the usgs topo maps in sketchup. That’s p...

Thanks again Bob! It was nice meeting you, I hope to see you in the water sometime. It was a great class, I am glad you sent us with a handout ( a lot of numbers to remember in one sitting). I definitely will plan my dives with a little more air now.

Thanks again,
Sheahan

Im not sure. I am using 2004, there is a autocad 3D mapping software but it is thousands of dollars. I plan on making the final version in Bryce5 I think you can make precise measurments in CAD and then import it to bryce to render it so it looks real.

Thanks for the idea, I was thinking of a rope type measuring tape, but I thought it was a dumb idea. I like your idea. Here is a sketch i drew up in autocad for an example of what i want to do i know it's missing things, i'll ad them later.

Underwater Mapping

Hello all, I have another question, it's about dive site mapping. First I was wondering if people could post the maps they have made so everyone can see. Also I was wondering the best method for creating your own dive site maps. I have found three ways: 1. Dive a bunch of times and hand sketch it ou...

Where's the "Copper Bell Mine" by Index? Is it open and accessible? Or way up in the hills? Reasonably safe or falling apart? Richard, You can drive right to it, off of reiter road. It seems safe, Compared to other mines I have been in around index. This one is a pain at first though. The...

Videos help!

I am looking into purchasing a camcorder to make some compilation movies. Is a standard digital camcorder good enough or do I need HD? Also is there a good program for editing the video clips? I know Calvin posted he got a new one but I havn't seen any movies yet!
