Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Here is another view, a mistake or accident that let the dog out don't equal a execution for the dog, ever. Dog gets out. Dog runs in traffic. Dog gets hit by vehicle. Difference? Vehicle wasn't intentionally trying to kill or hurt the dog. Big difference. Vehicle also wasn't intentionally trying t...

Here is another view, a mistake or accident that let the dog out don't equal a execution for the dog, ever. Dog gets out. Dog runs in traffic. Dog gets hit by vehicle. Difference? The difference is, that is an accident. Pure and simple. You don't have some one trying to use a catchpole that hasn't ...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

MY point is that YOUR point- regarding consequences for the owners- is kind of lost here.... What outcome are you advocating, exactly? I don't have an exact outcome to advocate. I'm simply pointing out the fact that police education and training can only solve so much, and that maybe some thought s...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Sure, a dog "that size" is capable of inflicting injury. Do you really think that was a reasonable conclusion for the officers to arrive at, after reading all this? I don't. A person "my size" can do some damage, too. But if I was hiding from the cops under a bush after being ta...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Mattley, I know. Since this thread started though Lilo has been on a leash whenever outside the home, and that's how it's gonna stay. If she gets out, and a cop mistakes her for a crazy rabid squrill, that's on me. Josh, is it? From a LEO perspective, isn't a dog this size capable of inflicting seri...

Re: Dog shooting in Des Moines

Why is there still no talk of the families responsibility in all of this? I know they have experienced a huge loss, but why does that make them exempt? It may sound harsh, but if a parent left a firearm unsecured and someone was injured because of it, you can bet your @$$ they would be liable. Maybe...

I've typed and deleted 4 responses to this thread in the last day and a half. Let's see what happens this time. Imagine if you will... You are a cop. You get called to the scene of a large dog with no identification tags running in traffic. You arrive and try to catch the dog with a catch pole. No s...

I just got my first, "smart phone" the other day and was wondering which Droid apps I shouldn't live without...... Pandora. It's an Internet music app, you can create stations based on your favorite music. Absolutely awesome app, and it's free. Robo defense. Cool tower defense game. Navio...

.....Because Hygene Is Important

When I saw this, I knew I had to share it. Not unlike the body groom, this device should not be kept secret. In fact, when teamed with the body groom, this just might be an unstoppable duo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtZKL74LgMg Is it just me, or does them last guy look like :rawlings: without t...

The float was placed by some good hearted northend divers who clearly put a lot of thought and effort into it. I don't know if they want to be known or not, so no names but good work guys! John, awesome find! I would absolutely flip out! Of course, I also would have mistaken them for Puget Sound Kin...

Re: Lake washington Plane wrecks....

The reason half the artifacts on the Valient are gone or crushed into oblivion (like the old "data box") is too many people diving her recreationally. At 115+ffw, inky black, and constructed of something with the consistency of 50yo wet cardboard she's not really a recreational dive IMHO....

Re: Lake washington Plane wrecks....

The Valiant could also be done recreationally from a boat (*** PLEASE be carefull if using a shot line!!! ***). There are also a few good wrecks and sites in the lake that are recreational, like the king street scow, Chris Borgen's Unicorn, and the underwater forest. *edited because I'm a jack@$$......

Uh, H2O Doc, I don't mean to tell a guy his own business or anything, but maybe next time you are getting your tanks filled maybe you should make sure the compressor intake isn't hooked up to the exhaust pipe of an idling car. I think its having some long term effects.
