Re: Rebreathers and other gear

all of them are post 94. 4 of the 7 are within hydro. I'd split the cost of the hydro's for the three that are out if you want the whole bunch, VIP/hydro is $40 per tank ($120), so I'd be willing to pay $60 of that. The thermo/blue steel DIN valves were $50 a pop, I believe and they are relatively n...

Re: Got a Meg

That's pretty much what I did before even diving my copis meg, yanked the stock electronics sold them off and wired it with shearwater Pursuit and shearwater HUD. The HUD is a convenience not a necessity... any combo that has you actively engaged is key. some people seem to be able to stay actively ...

I'm guessing everyone at one point or another has experienced an increased breathing rate regardless of how far down the scrubber has been burned ... that's pretty much a given if you exert yourself under water, especially working agains...

depth and adequate breathing gas aside, a word of caution about summoning sharks with a plastic water bottle full of air. the one time I witnessed this I was on air, not so deep but had to come up before the action started. my wife stayed down on a rebreather with a friend and had an eye opening exp...

Re: NW Dive Sites; Better or Worse over time?

1. The pilings had been in the water for decades, and it would stand to reason that any creosote that was going to leach had already done so. Disturbing them only increases the amount of new creosote released in the water. I find reason and politics are most often mutually exclusive. I think $$ may...

I'm not against spear fishing, I think it's pathetic that we have so poorly managed the fisheries and the ecosystem that it's so darn hard to find a vibrant place to go and hunt where I don't feel like I'm taking some of the last of something. I don't spear fish because it's my personal observation ...
