If my sinuses are clear, I may try to meet-up with you guys.
If you don't mind diving with someone who's a little rusty

I'm hoping to get a dive in on Saturday. If this head cold I've had clears up completely.

Contact lenses and diving
Three words, Laser Eye Surgery. I used to wear glasses (20/200 with astigmatism) but now I don't wear anything but sunglasses and mask while diving =D . Eventually the surgery pays for itself, and I have had no complications(I had PRK done) (Sorry for going off track) The problem with lasik is the ...

You can't pee in a drysuit. Just sayin.... Clearly you haven't met http://www.she-p-na.com My wetsuit is always nice and toasty warm. Just make sure you're in the water first, otherwise it's just WRONG :rjack: Also why getting my own wetsuit was my first newbie purchase.... rental wetsuits...

Re: New Year Octo :)
The only octopus I get to poke are the ones the Koreans have in buckets for sale on the ro. I don't think they're selling them as pets, though :(
Plus, the street vendor looks at me funny when I get all excited and start poking them

Re: Shore Dives I have not dove yet.
I've dove Ft. Flagler a couple times, as I have relatives living on Marrowstone Island. You want to do that at a high tide slack, and watch out for the current past the old ammunitions pier. It gets deep there quick and you could end up in Canada before you know it. My dive buddies always got a litt...

I don't think I've ever really thought that hard about it.
I can preface that I don't like surface swim, so I generally follow the bottom or we're diving off an anchor or buoy line.

Re: Not that I'm buying a boat yet? Just a question.
My first thought is anyone can pretty much sue anyone for anything, the question is whether they would prevail in court. Scuba is an inherently risky recreational sport. If I was you, I would have guests participating in such an inherently risky sport sign a short prepared statement to that effect. ...

Having grown up on the Oregon Coast (Astoria/Seaside) I have inherited lots of glass balls from our beach adventures in the '70's-'80's.

Re: Very nice to see an active PNW scuba board!!!
There is some diving here, but most of the spots are on the east coast and Jeju is supposed to be awesome (volcanic island - semi-tropical) Unfortunately while I had the time, I had no cash to travel out of Seoul. Once I got the cash, had no time :( Story of my life, at least until I get independent...

Most of my diving has been in PNW, but I've also dove in the Bahamas, Kauai, and Cozumel. I think that pic was from Cozumel...
I've been living in Seoul for the last year plus, but the only diving I got to do was in a swimming pool :(

Thanks guys!! You can be sure I'll be prowling for new dive buddies this spring, once my gear hits CONUS! I'm still trying to get the logistics down for getting my gear shipped from Korea. It was interesting trying to pantomime getting my tanks VIP'd and filled at the local Korean dive shop, now I h...

Re: Port Townsend on Labor Weekend
We were there two weekends ago, you really need to time the Ft. Flaggler dive right, or it's a great workout for your arms crawling along the bottom :crybaby: Ft. Worden can have current issues and they're not intuitive. If I remember correctly, the currents flow the same direction during both ebb &...

Port Townsend/Marrowstone Island 8/16 & 17
Going to be spending the weekend on picturesque Marrowstone Island with family that weekend. Hoping to hit either/or/all Fort Worden/Union Dock/Fort Flaggler. I've dove Fort Flagger before, a must at a high tide, as I walked it at low tide with my beau, and he's under whelmed at it's diving potentia...

Need a compass for my console
Just got my first real reg set put together, and realized, NO COMPASS. Does anyone have an extra in their garage, they'd like to get rid of cheap? I'd also be willing to trade, my "vintage" safety orange ScubaPro BCD, a pair of O'Neil gloves, and a pair of old fins for one, if interested...

Re: Edmonds Underwater Park - Sunday 8/3
No worries \:D/ I'm not much of a surface swimmer, I usually like to take a bearing and head out along the bottom. My beau had some equipment issues, so we ended up stopping and starting a couple times, and didn't blow the 2nd set of tanks. Didn't hit any outragous current, vis was, at best, about 2...
