That's awesome! Both my husband and I have been guilty over the years of overindulging and working hard at life, job, and family, but not taking care of the body itself. I don't think you can lose going to Cozumel or the Rivera Maya. The diving is lovely and there are so many other things to do like visiting the cenotes for swimming (or diving!!!), Mayan ruins, etc. Plus there are lots of cheapish flights into Cancun.

Hi Brittany! Another Bellinghamster checking in, though not actually from here. :) I don't know if you've looked into any of the local shops but it seems like Gone Diving on Iowa has a strong female dive presence, lots of social activities and dives if that is something you're interested in! Hello! I took up scuba back in late 2000/early 2001 after being laid off from a dot-com. Why not take up an expensive hobby when unemployed?! I learned to dive in the Monterey Bay which still owns a big chunk of my heart! Eventually I found work which cut into my diving time though it helped finance...
