Re: Port Angeles, 3/10?

Yeah, if folks come up with a date and are open to tag alongs I'd love to do this dive with someone who has done it. And combining it with other dives in the area over a few day span is always a plus if it works out.

Re: Small tide change better visibility ???

Hmmm.... good question. Not 100% sure of the answer, but the premise could make sense - less water moving = less stirring up. On the other hand, more water moving could also mean the tide sucking away crud and algae, etc, so actually improving visibility. The main conditions I personally look for is...

Sund Rock 3-20-2018 was ...interesting.
Water was 2 degrees warmer than inner Sound.
The green algae bloom is in full swing.
Top 10 fsw 10' viz.
10 to 55/60 fsw 2' to 3' viz.
Below 60 fsw 15' ish viz, night dive conditions.
Lots of life, 3 deep, long, nitrogen loading dives!

That is exciting, and a good reason for me finally dive there! We're they under the bridge or on the way there?

The ones at West Wall are growing in spite of heavy predation.

The ones at Three Tree are almost gone.

Re: Bonaire, December 2017

Interested in hearing more about your dive at the Lighthouse. Did you have a wind reversal or calmer conditions, or did you just go for it? We had two days during our trip with no wind on the east side. Being first timers, we were clueless the first day. Wow - that is wonderful! If you don't realiz...

Why buy expensive rock boots just buy yourselves a pair of high top sneakers I currently dive my Converse tennies and love them. However, for some reason they only come in narrow sizes. I make it work, but they are wearing quickly, aren't the most comfortable, and it's time to look for a new pair. ...

...watching the seasons change underwater is a new fun thing. This is indeed one of the fun things about becoming a regular diver as opposed to vacation or only a couple times a year. You begin to become familiar with the sites, their wildlife, their seasons, and more. By the way, doing regular REE...

Re: Redondo: where did all marine life go?

I have no doubt that in general we have decreases in some Marine Life in our inner Sound sites over the last decade or so. And some of this is no doubt due to external factors (over-fishing, pollution, etc). But what you saw at Redondo (and other sites in general) is very typical in Winter time. Wil...
