Re: Lake washington Plane wrecks....

John Sharps used to have a page (minus coordinates) but it seems to be under re-construction. http://www.jawsmarine.com JaWS is back up. I had been Word Press hacked and it took me awhile to get things squared away. There are some text/html anomalies in the bodies of some of the posts, so I still h...

Re: Cuff Dump

I have used the quarter size one-way cuff dump provided as an option by Diving Concepts for a number of years. It is undergarment agnostic (helpful if you ever transition from warm to cold waters or cold to colder waters diving around here) and I have learned with the cuff dump I can make very fast ...

Nice video... stills taken from the overhead viewpoint would make for a good photo mosaic of the wreck...

Re: Lake Washington Shipyard Company

there are a bunch of burned out hulls off that point. Even though they are burned out you can still get a good appreciation for the wooden architecture of those hulls and they are all fairly shallow in depth

Re: Aircraft in the Sound

I've got the Lk Washington planes fairly well documented here:
http://www.jawsmarine.com/

There are other planes in the sound, but none in the kind of shape you'll find the Lk Washington planes in.

Re: Lake Washington Wreck Diving

I came across this once as well, and came to the conclusion it was an old (unused?) section of one of the floating bridges. Briefly mentioned here: http://www.jawsmarine.com/blog/category/lake-washington/i-90-bridge/ Also, look at this photo of the 520 bridge construction. Remind you of anything? ht...

Re: Unidentified Minesweeper in Lake WA Narrowed

Interesting bit of information and nice work on your teams part. So if I understand you right, you are you saying - The YMS-359 is what you are calling “YMS # 1” - YMS # 2 is the burned out hull and you believe you have confirmed it as the YMS 416 or YMS 419 (you call it both in your post) - And the...

I'll drop the price to $2300 as I'd prefer to deal with someone local, but before I go any lower than that I will try its hand on eBay.

With a basic compressor and this booster you could be well on your way to having your own Nitrox or Trimix fill station. You know you like the sound of that.

Navy Minesweeper Located in Lake Washington

This past weekend JaWS and Innerspace Exploration located and captured sonar imagery of a previously undocumented Navy Minesweeper in Lake Washington. Though a lot of folks are familiar with the YMS-359 that sits at the bottom of the lake, this is actually the 3rd YMS to be found out there – and by ...

The Valiant being the most fragile of the Lk Washington aircraft it would be better not to create any type of yellow brick road marking the way. Having a line to the wreck only promotes additional access to it – and the comment about no one stealing artifacts off these wrecks is just simply not accu...

Lk Washington Hauler

I don't think I have posted here before, but after the Pacific NW Tech Dive Conference I decided I would take a more active role in communicating new finds. We located another wreck in Lake Washington this past weekend; this time with the help of the NAUI boys and their sonar equipment. This wreck i...
