Re: Did you all miss me?

Sparky - Good to hear from you! I've missed meeting you and Jay at Cove 2 on your marathon trips up here. It's great to hear that you are moving to Lake Stevens... I'm on the SE side of Marysville... almost in LS myself. I've done some dives at Lake Ki... pretty typical W WA lake dive... exceptional...

Re: Life has come ROARING back into the Coves!

That big ling wedged back in the logs has been there at least since February... I try to check in on him every time I dive there... I know the Marker Buoys have been watching him for some time on their Wednesday night dives... I'll second (or third) the observation on the quality of the vis below 30...

Hi Over... I did a few dives two summers ago in PV. I can't remember the dive site's name, or the charter (Vallerta Adventures or something) - I'll have to dig it out of my logbook. The site was on the south side of the bay... near a famous restaurant once owned by John Huston... shallow dive off of...

Sparky, Bob, Tony and Al -

Great dives yesterday! What a way to ring in the new year. I can't imagine how tired you guys were when you finally got home. I was pretty wiped out and I only had an hour drive.

I'm excited to see the pics.

Sparky - I've been thinking about a New Year's dive... but my usual buddies haven't had too many kitchen passes lately. Great timing... would love to dive with you again.

I'll plan on meeting you there at 8:00am. I think you have my cell number if you need to get a hold of me.

Oh and I'll second gcbryan's note that parking is limited... we got the last "legal" spot. Apparently the little cul de sac that sits at the entry for the beach is overflow parking for the marina... it was a nice day and everyone was out on the water. There is a lot of "yellow curb&qu...

Just as an added note, we followed the recommendations in NWSD... as a general rule they were spot on. Always dive this site on a slack water before an Ebb current and enter the water 30 min before slack water, and drop down 20 minutes before slack. So we started our surface swim at 30 min before sl...

It was much better... it helps to get the currents right! We hit it just right yesterday... drifting out almost to Fidalgo head on the tail end of the flood, and back into the beach on the building ebb. Awesome dive!

Burrow's Pass Today

Had a great dive today at Burrow's Pass with SethT... timed the currents just right to drift from the entry to almost Fidalgo head... and back to the entry again with very little swimming. \:D/ Had a little bit of everything: big wall, kelp, current, nudibranchs, lingcod, Kelp Greenlings, cabazon an...

We decided that Lake Ki was worth doing again... I think we've chalked Martha up to "been there done that..." There was more life in Lake Ki... small fish and lots of crayfish. Martha was pretty dead... no fish and only a few crayfish. The thermocline, especially in Lake Martha was impress...

Lake Martha and Lake Ki yesterday

Seth T and I dove Lakes Martha and Ki (Snohomish Co.) yesterday morning. It's always interesting to drop down to the bottom to find it hard to tell where the "bottom" begins... best described as a brown Coolwhip like substance. Overall visibility was about 5-10 ft in Lake Martha and 3-20ft...

Anybody diving today (Sunday)?

Anybody looking for a dive buddy today?

I was planning on doing a couple of Lake dives Monday with Seth and Von... but it looks like my three day weekend is going to shrink back to two and I'll have to work. ](*,)

That leaves today and I'm buddy-less.

On a more short term note... is anyone diving tomorrow (Sunday 10/7)?

Yeah I know... those damn meteorologists....

I'm planning on diving rain or shine though... and don't mind making it a group dive. Tides aren't so much an issue at places like Cove 2... theres a post in the planning forum if folks are interested in a group dive this weekend.

The operative word is trying to organize... we'll see. I think Saturday is going to be the nicer day.

You know what they say... all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Let me know if you change your mind... I'll even drive.

Shaking the bushes: Group Dive this weekend?

Hi All, Newdiveroldfart (Al) had a nice suggestion in the intro forum of putting together a few more informal group dives... especially inviting some of the new members. I'm not quite sure what category I fall into, but I'm always up for a dive. =D> So... who's up for a group dive this weekend to co...

Thanks Al... I'll second your idea about a group dive. I've actually spoken to Sparky and Jay about it when they were last up this way... Sparky must have done such a good job putting together the last NWDC group dive that he's marked for life now. =D> Maybe we can form a little group to plan someth...
