Re: Thursday May 21

I went down there Wednesday to see if there was anyone diving, and there was a commercial boat out there, and about 30 floats for crab, down the length of the oil pier and the beach all the way to the ferry. I watched the guy on the boat drop off another pot. Looked like the pots were pretty consist...

Metal Man - Yeah! Looks like my regular dive buddy Steve is back "on" again - So that would make a threesome. I'm hungry for some Ling too; lets hope we can find some! I'm planning on being there a little before 4:00, meet at the Silver Cloud Inn. I am driving a silver Subaru Baja, Steve h...

Friday, Northend, after 3:30

Looking for a buddy for tomorrow, my regular buddy had to bail. Could do Edmonds, or Mukilteo, or I could join you on your boat. Open to other ideas. Could do 2 tanks, I can bring 3 tanks, if you need one (Al80's). Could take pics or hunt, or explore, your choice. I can leave work in Mukilteo at 3:3...

Cindy,
We met when you observed Bob teaching my AOW class. Looking forward to you getting cert'd. Good to see you on the board, this is THE place to learn more about diving. There is a ton of thread hijacking to read here!

Re: Freediving Cuda

Wow, that is the part I meant to include - I'm rather large, so I didn't breach, but it was cool to have my head pop a good two feet out of the water. I always "whooped" an "Whoo Hoo!" yell each time I came up. I didn't get the scooter into top speed, I think it still had two mor...

Re: Open Water Day 1, Cove 2

thread drift.. snorkels are great for power snorkeling... with scooters!!! :) Snorkel, harness, cuda/sierra, no weights = WAY FUN! Fun to be able to leave your head in the water and look down at stuff flying by at a few hundred fpm :) For those of you stuck on surface for what ever reason, you migh...

Freediving Cuda

I have been doing some work for Ben at Dive-Xtras. His latest project is a scooter to use while free diving. It has a saddle that slips on the end of the scooter (sorry don't have any pics), and a cord that plugs in with a remote controller. Other than that it is a stock scooter, and can still be us...

Re: Six Gills in Seattle?

This is good to hear. It's been a while. I keep my ears open for sighting reports and it's definitely been a long dry spell. Two years ago there was a while when it seemed like there were weekly sightings being reported. I wonder a lot about what brings them shallow, and when. Is there a developmen...

Re: Any one using the Dive rite Thigh pocket on there dry suit

Dusty, The dive rite pocket that I glued on as-is - is too small in my opinion, but other than that, it glued up fine and works. I just left all the "stuff" on, and glued in onto the hip of my drysuit. Now, my drysuit is an old beater, and so I didn't stress over sloppy gluing. But even wi...

Re: Confirm ID Sculpin

Thanks Much! I really like this fish, I think I like the bright cirri down the lateral line. He sure had good camouflage. There is a definite band across the back of the head (of brighter green) that I am curious about. I would say this sculpin was about 1 1/2 " long. In the print I have in fro...

Confirm ID Sculpin

I think this is a northern sculpin, but I only have one book, to compare, and don't know the parts of the ID that are important for this species.

Thanks :joshsmith:

I had to bargain with the non-diving wife - A week off diving so I could go to the dive fair. -- I bought a new strobe for my camera. Way itching to use it -- Since Monday 4 people have asked me to dive with them this week. -- the sun is shining outside, but by the time I get to dive, it will equal ...

Re: Mukilteo T-dock, 4-22

Smike, what side is that Wolf eel on? I saw the orange one last time I was there, it was on the north side-far right pipe. I have seen it there 3 times now. I have never seen the one in the picture. Far side from entry point, first pipe join from the bottom (6' off the bottom). I was facing east. T...
