Re: Diver missing at Mukilteo Lighthouse park
A laminated QR code placed right by the dive map at T-dock would be cool. I am going to create something and work with ole George to implement. EXAMPLE This site is current sensitive, have you checked your tidal exchange? Anything above a 8 foot exchange can be challenging at this site. Please scan...

Re: New to Cold Water, looking for dive buddies!
Welcome to the PNW! I hope to see you diving with us soon. Get that Drysuit first and start talking to other local divers about what to buy next. What regulators do you have now? If in good shape they will likely be all you need for local diving. The idea of a cold water reg is a bit fuzzy. It's unl...

Very nice! I just got one of the Kraken wide wet lenses as well. I've only used it twice, but in pretty dismal vis so far.

Re: Viz Reports Thread
I dove Sunrise and Dalco Wall today and it was not bad. Sunrise was about 10 feet, and Dalco was better at 15 feet. Two nice dives with GPO's, Wolfeels, and Grunt Sculpin babies. Also a red irish lord on eggs.

When I take the rebreather to places like that, I pack an empty plastic spray bottle with a dry tablet of steramine inside. Just add water!

Re: Steramine anyone?
In tropical climates you need to be a lot more careful about slime growing in your loop. In the PNW it's not such a big problem. If I don't have the opportunity to fully rinse my loop at the end of the day a few spray pumps of steramine solution will keep it sanitary. It kills everything real good.

Order it from Dive Gear Express. $9.95 for a bottle of tablets that will last for 20 years.

Re: Steramine anyone?
Yes, I use it to clean my rebreather. I use a spray bottle for a quick spritz in the hoses and mouthpiece between tear downs. When I do a full teardown I fill the sink several inches and crush a full tablet to soak hoses and lungs, etc. I do not rinse the parts again with fresh water after using the...

Re: 2021.11.07 - Alki Junkyard
There is a Marker Buoy dive there tomorrow evening... I'm supposed to dive at Cove 2 in the evening, so I'm trying to find some folks who would want to dive the Junkyard earlier (I'm available any time after 2:30PM). If anyone is interested, let me know! I plan to be at the Junkyard arriving @ 3:30...

Re: Classes for CCR???
I have been actively diving CCR since 2007 with over 1000 dives on my units. I suggest you get at least a couple hundred OC dives in before you consider CCR. You really need to be relaxed in the water and completely in control of yourself and your gear. Are you the kind of person that really enjoys ...

I think they are hydroids! I zoomed in more and it's pretty clear.
Was that lunch or is it growing in there? Is this something you've seen before?

It looks a little bit like an Urchin, perhaps it's go stuck and has gotten a bit fuzzier as it degrades?

Re: Anyone have a Cochran Analyst file?
It is still a capable computer. I would still be using mine as a CCR backup if it didn't die a couple of years ago. My two units lasted ten years before the lcd and sensors crapped out. By then the company was dead too. That software however is an abomination and insult to the senses of all software...
