Re: Another Newbie

Welcome to the NW Dive Club! We did our first club dive today at Sund Rock and got to meet some great people. We are in Portland but we will be sure to post anytime we have a dive planned up that direction. It is very cool that you have done something about those daydreams. Maybe one of these days y...

Re: Dare I say it? Is it time to plan another CLUB DIVE!?!?

Matt & I had a great time at the club dive today. =D> It was nice to get to know people a little better and put a face with a screen name. More importantly, we are starting to understand why some of the threads get a bit side tracked and go straight to the gutter. We look forward to the next one...

Stacy and I will be there. We will not be carpooling because we are already staying close by. We are bringing a cooler load of water, soda, etc. See you all there! We will also bring a quick shade to set up if needed.

Stacy and I are going to be there for the club dive. We are staying at the Rest-a-While RV park just North of Sund Rock. We can get the place secured in the morning first thing. We are also diving with Pacific Adventures on Saturday. Anyone else sign up?

Re: Got Oxygen?

I just completed the DAN O2 and Advanced O2 with Janna in Vancouver. I also just completed the PADI Rescue Diver training this past weekend. Although I have known that oxygen is useful in diving related accidents up to this point I have never considered it a priority. But, thinking back to the trips...

Re: Dare I say it? Is it time to plan another CLUB DIVE!?!?

Okay, Sund Rock, June 22, 9:00 a.m.! What a great idea! These Oregonians will be staying at the Rest A-While, just accross from Sund Rock. We are going to be there for the weekend. We will be at the rock early to help set up. We will contribute a cooler full of sodas, waters and fruit for the surfa...

Re: Dare I say it? Is it time to plan another CLUB DIVE!?!?

I love going south on occasion. 'Nuff said... \:D/ :laughing3: This club is about SCUBA diving right? Just checking... Sund Rock usually makes for a good dive site. Not to much to worry about current wise. Although, we have not dived there since the storms at the end of last year. Last I heard ther...

Re: Dare I say it? Is it time to plan another CLUB DIVE!?!?

So you're saying you intentionally pawn your load off on women? You bastard. :axe: SO... who's available for the club dive on the 22nd?! Tides suck so we're looking at somewhere non-current sensitive. Preferrably somewhere Spatman won't need his non-back-kick. :bootyshake: hah, not intentionally, b...

Re: Travel gear bag

Good advise on the Costco bags! I have been using one for over 5 years (replaced one wheel) and it is still kicking. We have been on several cruises which typically means alot of wheeling of gear down the piers. You can't beat the price. One suggestion is to spray the zippers with silicon. Typically...

Stacy and I missed the last one. We are looking forward to meeting more of the club. Our vote is June 21st or 22nd. Anywhere with water would be great to us.

Re: WTB (maybe) single BP/Wing

I'm going into information overload but, thanks for all the posts on this topic. This is something I have been researching for purchase also. I am looking into a single rig with no real intention to dive outside of recreational limits at any point in the near future. At the risk of sounding naive, h...

Re: Memorial Weekend diving.

I wish that I could join you all Memorial Day weekend but, I will be out of town. Shoot! If you dive the Graces rocks you will park along Hwy 101 a bit north of the tide pool entry area. It is best to dive this site at high tide as suggested by AM219. You have a walk along the railroad tracks to get...

Re: Memorial Weekend diving.

Cape Lookout is an awesome dive when the conditions are right. I have always traveled out of the Tillamook Bay to get there. The whole South side is excellent diving with lots of big fish and very cool terrain. I have heard of people getting there, in a zodiac or similar, from the bay to the south b...

Re: Going to Oregon!

I would suggest one of the high lakes (Clear or Timothy) but, this year they are still snowed in. Normally by this time you can get to them. So, the only suggestion I have is Tillamook jetty. It is an hour and a half or so from Hillsboro area. Is there a site review or pictures of the tillamook jet...

Re: Attention Oregon Divers

Netarts is a bay West of Tillamook. It is a faily shallow sandy bottom aside of the water channel (still not too deep). The unique thing about this bay is that there are no fresh water rivers that feed into it. The diving is just ok with the best areas near the boat ramp around the rock jettys. The ...

Re: How has SCUBA spilled into other parts of your life?

I was first certified to dive in 91. I was on a mission, for the first several years, to dive as much a humanly possible. I thought for sure that I would work in or on the water. Well, things change, dive buddy's time get divided, careers, and resposibilities creep in. I have continued to dive throu...
