Anyone for Friday evening diving? Possibly Alki?

Went to Alki tonight but some misunderstanding and bad navigation on my buddy's part resulted in me being separated from my buddy by like 20 miles and I had to give up...

Anyone up for diving tomorrow night? Could be Cove 2 +- 20 miles \:D/, any time between 5pm and 8pm...

Re: Viz around the Sound

Redondo yesterday wasn't bad. 2 ft visibility up to 20fsw, then opening up to about 10-12 feets at 45 fsw.

The water was quite warm; 54f at the surface down to 50f at 45fsw. I think I need to invest in a lighter undergarment...

Re: Viz around the Sound

Keep the reports coming! I've been out of the water because of a cold but feeling better now I need to plan a dive with someone new to Puget Sound - I'd prefer going to a place we can see something! I can't comment on the UW viz, but I sailed yesterday from Everett to Elliott Bay. My sonar couldn't ...

Re: The Sound almost got a new wreck, thanks to Hanjin!

If it was a big container ship, I suppose it was in the shipping lane. Given they can't manoeuver that much, they pretty much have right of way... but they tend to be courteous and horn earlier about which side they intend to pass. Quite lame they didn't in that case. Why did Mike have right of way ...

Re: No feeling in pinky toes and LOVING it. (Cove 2)

While I'm still very mucy much a newbie myself, my first dive in a drysuit resulted in consistent feet up too. I actually demonstrated to my instructor how even when I was fully neutral and horizontal, that doing nothing would result in me beeing feet up in about 3 seconds. And that's despite being ...

Re: Mukilteo T-dock 5/7/08

Yes the drift dive was fun! First time I do one without a boat picking up and where the exit is the same as entry, but that worked out pretty well nonetheless! (ok admittedly not the recommended technique of swimming against current first, but as you said we can't really dive under the ferry #-o ) C...

Re: Web-based Dive Logs?

I've tried http://www.divelogs.de/en - which is impressively good. It support importing from most major computer. It can generate very nice PDFs that you can print for your logbook... If you have your data in your computer already, give it a try. Then do like I did and beg him to provide a version i...

Re: Dive weeknight this week? Alki or nearby..

Thursday night won't work this week (somebody just made plans for me) - although in general Tues/Wed/Thu are good. Can probably catch-up another week. (Except next week - I'll be away...)

Looks like I'll go with TCWestBy & cie on Friday - hopefully traffic will not be too bad!

It's a little far, and a little early in the day, but I might be able to make it! Thanks for the offer!
Sending you a PM.

Still opened to anything closer if anyone else is diving and wouldn't mind me going along or are looking for a buddy!

Dive weeknight this week? Alki or nearby..

I'm looking for a buddy to dive around Seattle some evening this week. Could be anytime after 6:30 for an evening or night dive. I'm not super experienced (16 dives), but I'm comfortable in the water and AOW-level. I just don't get to dive as much as I want with my existing buddies so I definitely n...

Re: Redondo 4/6

Did two dives today with two friends who are getting back to diving. Very accessible site indeed - and visibility was pretty good. It was only my 6th and 7th dive in a Dry suit - and this was two months ago - which made for a "bumpy ride" ](*,) on the first one... but we had fun. I met a g...

Redondo 4/6

Me and two of my friends will be diving Sunday morning at Redondo around 10am. If anyone is there tomorrow please say hi! I drive a red Isuzu Trooper. (and dive a light blue Weezle in a black Apollo). Also, I've never dived there before, and although I have my AOW I haven't dived a lot yet. Do you g...

I am a new diver who decided to do AOW after doing only a few dives. I happen to go to the I-beams for my deep dive on an AL80, and recorded my air usage and depth on this dive. (My 9th dive). My SAC is about 0.75 cf/min currently. I'm still getting used to using a drysuit and I was still wasting a ...
