Where does the boat leave for this dive trip :bounce: ? There is a chance (depends on other family obligation logistics ](*,) ) Mrs. Sounder and I will be on Lopez... any chance the boat leaves from one of the islands and could do an inter-island pick up \:D/ ?

Why do I get the feeling this thread is about to go down a road that has nothing to do with signaling devices?! :supz: I'll bring mine to the gas management seminar for all to see. It's got a lot of great features - oral and LP hose inflation, lift bag type inflation (can have air blown in from the ...

I agree - someone knows. Any UW Chemistry Freshman could do it, I'm sure.

Yes, it's geek for "put mentos in diet coke and cool stuff happens." Sometimes it's fun to hear geek though... what's weird is I work with guys who speak that way.

Drysuit seals...

Mrs. Sounder needs a smaller neck seal on her new drysuit - the suit fits great (it's a really really great fit! \:D/ ), but her neck seal is too big. If we wanted to have a smaller one from the factory, we're looking at the custom suit price (cough! :pale: ). She's got a compressed neoprene suit an...

That's a great comparison!!! John - here's what they did. They drilled a small hole through each mento, then strung 4-5 of them on a piece of string. They suspended the strung mentos over the liquid with a little black paper clasps like you have at your office. They then run another string to the cl...

"To error is human, but it takes a computer to REALLY F%&# things up!" Nobody should trust their computer 100%. It's a great luxury, but no substitute for depth, time, and tables. Computers shouldn't replace planning, but unfortunately from what I hear, they often do. On the "bend...

Well, yes I was chasing crabs (first time on scuba) - they're faster than I thought they'd be! Yes, my gear wasn't fitting quite right (BTW GD, got that all fixed and tested it off my dock). Then there's the extra insulation some of us are blessed with... that helps A LOT! Similar to marine mammals,...

I dove at Mukilteo on Saturday in a 7mm wetsuit and was uncomfortably warm. I was unzipping, opening my hood, and taking my gloves off trying to cool off by letting water in.

The Oceanic's also allow you to set a "conservative" factor on them if you choose. They're adjustable based on the diver's preference.

It's nice that they want the prop back as that gives you bargaining power. I like your idea of letting them know that their prop is "near" where they were anchored, but keeping the gps coord's for yourself. Better yet, your garage is "nearer" to their anchor location than Bellevu...

I'm going wireless air-integrated for my computer (Oceanic VT3), but that ONLY as a luxury. I'll still have an analog spg, depth, & compass console attached to my d-ring as I don't want to depend on a computer for everything and build-in redundancy anywhere I can. So it doesn't eliminate a hose,...

Is payment worth some boat dives in AK?! I'd be willing to go pay a friendly visit. I'm thinking this winter might be a fun time to bring the wife up for some amazing vis!

What's the water temperature in that neck of the woods around mid-January?

Sounds good to me - the artists who put on the Bellagio-esk show drilled small holes through the mentos and strung them on the string with a know at the bottom.

This clearly is going to take some trials to ensure we get it right - critical science we're talking here.
