We did the Shilshole Barges this morning - Unfortunately I woke up with a nasty head cold so I volunteered to tend the boat.

Fun pictures and happy Halloween!

But seriously dude, between the underwater monsters and special ops sea lions you may want to consider adding a bit of helium in your mix. :)

Re: Thursday daytime rain diving

Hey Eric -
I can't make the Thursday dive but you can borrow my king canopy if you'd like. I'll be in the Microsoft campus/DT Bellevue area all day tomorrow and could bring it with me.

Not sure what you're driving now-a-days but in the bag the canopy is about 6ft long....

Re: Discovery Bay boat trip again

I'm good for December 6th.

The only caveat is that I have an overhead protocols class sometime between now and the end of the year. I should know a firm date sometime within the next few weeks.

Re: Discovery Bay boat trip again

I did a quick check of the tides and we have at least a +4 all day every weekend until the end of the year so launching shouldn't be an issue. People who are bringing their boat please reply with the weekends you will be available so we can start to lock things down. I'll update this post so we can ...

Re: Bizarre encounters with Steller Sea Lion at Possession P

I was also wondering about US Navy mammal program that was training Sea Lions to detain Divers . Possession Point Fingers are not far away from Whidbey Island Naval Station. That would be very unlikely that one of those Sea Lions would go “on training” on his own. Also based on Wikipedia this progr...

Re: GoBe Light setup for GoPro?

... Good luck with your class! It's a lot of fun, and grueling work. Depending on your instructor I'd compare it to bootcamp when I was in the Corp, underwater hazing with a purpose. I hope it's not even close to being as brutal as boot camp, at 45 years old I don't think I could survive a trip to ...

Always Dude! - If somebody comes along with a pilot house that has heat and a hot water shower I may let you take my boat :) . As Richard mentioned though let's get a boat count before we assign AIS (asses in seats).

Re: GoBe Light setup for GoPro?

Well, wound up with some DRIS Impact Stubby flood lights that were on sale, and a light and motion compact tray. We'll see how it works out. It should be similar brightness since they are a wider flood beam but 1k lumens instead of 700 lumens... That setup you have looks like it works well. Hopeful...

Re: GoBe Light setup for GoPro?

Here's my post from a few months ago... http://nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23054&hilit=gopro I've used these in the Sound as well as on a recent trip to the Red Sea and had really good results with these lights. For the price the set-up can't be beat. I also originally though about us...

Re: FL diver visiting in Dec

Water temps in late December should be somewhere between 45 and 48 degrees. I've never heard of anyone diving in Birch Bay, from what I've been told the visibility around Bellingham is horrible because of Mt Baker runoff. Most of the Bellingham divers that I know come down south and dive our north P...

If you find two let me know...... I have two sets of double PST 100's and wouldn't mind putting together a 3rd.

You could try John at NESS, he'll have used 7/8 OMS manifolds from time to time.

Re: Rusty tanks?

Although I've never had it happen to me it's possible to get some flash rust in your in your tanks from hydro. More than likely a small amount of water was injected into the tank when it was filled. This happens if the person filling blow tank doesn't blow out the valve before they hook-up the fill ...
