Re: Goodman Handle Width

Hmmm should I have posted this in the DIY area? Maybe. Overall I got lucky on a few counts in whipping up a goodman handle for this DR MR11. First I got my hands on an older Salvo plastic light head base which made my goodman handle fab much much easier. Second was the existence of threaded holes at...

1. You've already checked this thread more than once. Brilliant 15. You've lost interest in shoe shopping or generally shopping, if it is not dive gear shopping. So true. Mmmmm shoes. - You service your dive gear religiously ... your car, on the other hand, has gone 15,000 miles since the last oil ...

10 Signs You're Addicted to Diving

From Kalatin, CaseyB449 and me: You start to assess your land friend's ability to have your back when things go to hell. You no longer detect the musty mold smell your car has acquired. You’ve created a new Quicken category for scuba gear. You're able to plan an entire week's worth of diving but hav...

I've used a white paint pen with great success.

Nail polish works well on hard non shiny surfaces.

Re: Goodman Handle Width

If at all possible, go divign with someone who has a 10watt DR. Then do the same with someone with a 10watt salvo. There's a big difference. Oh yeah. I'm aware. A salvo is in my future... just not the near one. At this point I'm thinking cheap and easy. Crap light is better than no light. eric do y...

Re: Goodman Handle Width

If someone has a moment and is equally as bored as I am... would they mind measuring the width of the hand opening of their (preferably salvo)light's goodman handle? are you making a new one? Yeah. I can't afford a nice light at the moment so I'm fix'n to buy a used can light... and it comes with a...

The height would be cool too but not totally necessary.

Thanks!

I agree with Sounder on this one... a drysuit will add a layer of complexity that might hamper you in learning all the basic stuff being taught in your OW class. Diving fun is all about being comfortable in the water and you'll probably have enough to manage and worry about during class without futz...

Re: Holy S that's deep

It just dawned on me where I've heard of the Portland before (besides hours spent trolling the list of MA wrecks while I should be working). It seems that my wife's great great grandfather (a fishing boat captain himself) was documented as the last person to see the Portland afloat. I guess there's ...
