Holy crap I can breath underwater?!

It'd been too long.... months... maybe 6 or 7 since I dove last? The only thing that could motivate me to get my ass back in the water is a honest to goodness dive buddy. Once my regular buddy moved away and life in general intervened, I lost the motivation to make any effort to dive with anyone I m...

Way to bring a thread to a screeching halt Ben. Sheesh.

Maybe we talk about Jen's cake fixation and ignore him.

Re: For Those About To Swim...

I bet Jen Bozo has been lurking for months waiting for the right amount of silliness to post something not boring and not at all dive related.

And Scott... your facial hair is freaking me out in your clinton avatar. Make it go back to Moss.

Re: Oahu for a couple days

If Oahu isn't that great for diving, then are there any Hawaiian islands that have good diving? I've never been to the islands but I just assumed that there was decent diving there. Well...I very much like Hawaiian diving. I'm there at least a couple times a year. But, I have learned there are pers...

I hear a lot about dry suit leaks but still dive one myself :smt064
ditto, with drygloves.
I hear a lot about drowning lately but I still dive (now and then).

Salvo 21w HID

Anyone want to buy my can light? It's too bright for Hawai'i and I don't dive often enough with anyone that would know a light signal even if you shined it right in their eyes. Someday a 10w LED will do me fine. I'm asking $600 shipped. Last year the light turned on in my gear bucket and there was s...

Re: Warm Water

I'm not sure what water temperature has to do with fin selection. I wear my jets every time I dive in our 77-80 degree water.

Re: Oahu for a couple days

I think diving on Oahu is a bit lame... but there are a couple wrecks worth seeing.

All the boats there are largely the same. Don't dive with Dive Oahu. I was so scared by their operation I paid to sit out the second dive.

Where are you staying?

Aloha hard,

That sounds like a frightening euphemism.

FYI: I managed to survive warm water diving with Spatman again. I live to tell tales of his general strokery.

Re: Big Screen Underwater Camera

Eric, how large is a "very large" screen to you? Bigger and brighter than a powershot LCD screen I suppose. I guess what I really want is a still camera that takes video and not the other way around. The light and motion housings are the highest on my list for video housings. Nice big scr...

Big Screen Underwater Camera

We do a crapload of underwater video at my job. We have a bunch of canon point and shoots that take really great HD video. No one I work with is able to keep them still enough for usable video. There's also a canon HD video camera and a massive ikelite housing. None of these devices have a screen th...

Bah. That's a 70 miles and 3 other volcanoes away :) I live on the "old" one.

It's always a great time to visit Sockmonkey... because its not like it will get any more geologically stable... ever.

The good, the bad, and the ugly (2 out of 3 ain't bad)

Met up with some of the engineers from the Keck Observatory for a dive on Sunday. One of which is a friend of mine. Don't judge them to harshly... unless that's your thing.

Before today my last dive was a little over 3 months ago. Having a baby and the winter swell has prevented me from being underwater for any length of time. This was my longest time dry in about 4 years or so. At about 10PM last night my dive buddy Mari sent me a txt asking if I had a tank. I spent t...
