Re: OW Water Instructor Recommendations?
Cathy Sytsma at Seattle Scuba does midweek private OW classes...not sure if drysuit during OW is a possibility though. Great demeanor and very knowledgeable. I've seen her work through every sort of problem with students and she spends as much time as needed to get the skills right. She taught my OW...

Re: Keystone Sat 1/28
I'm in. New to Keystone, so I'll be taking YellowEye up on the briefing/tour offer. Hi Who's up for Keystone Sat 1/28? I'm happy to brief the site to people who haven't been yet. (Note: I'm not a divemaster, so please be comfortable with advanced sites and have some coldwater dives in the last month...

Re: entry level gear
I'll add my agreement that a drysuit here in the PNW is how you'll get the most out of whatever other equipment you'll buy since you'll probably dive more than using a wetsuit. I just bought mine and I'm really glad I did. I've been diving most weeks since I bought it. Mine is a Mobby's Neo Dry (hig...

Re: New Member Looking for Buddies
Jan 28 would work for me. Looking at the tides/current predictions, it looks like noon to about 4:30p would be good if I am reading them right.

Re: Viz Reports Thread
Viz at Redondo today was excellent (30ft). Tons of juvenile fish. Not a lot of big guys though.

Re: New Member Looking for Buddies
Happy new year and thanks for all the warm welcomes! I actually did several dives this weekend and saw a big improvement in air consumption. I was able to drop five lbs of lead off and got a bit better trimmed out. And I'm getting more used to my dry suit. Taken all together, it made a huge differen...

Re: New Member Looking for Buddies
I've heard great things about Keystone Jetty, but not dived there yet. I just know that timing is everything there in terms of current, etc. So, I'm definitely looking to dive there for the first time with someone who knows the site well. I'd definitely be up for it...Fair warning, I'm a bit of an a...

New Member Looking for Buddies
Hello all! I'm a newly certified diver since the beginning of Oct this year. I have my AOW/Drysuit certs and about 20 dives in. I'm looking to find a buddy to build up navigation skills, experience with some of the milder current sites around Seattle/Tacoma, and just generally exploring the sites wi...
