Pool gear needed
Hi guys, Im teaching on the East side in Walla Walla, yeah you UWS guys know who I am! I hate using actually good gear in the pool all the time. It's just too harsh on equipment! So if you have functional older bits of dive gear let me know what you have and what dirt cheap price I can get it for. W...

Three tree and tides
Looks like high tide is about 5pm Saturday. Is that a proper ride for diving three tree? I visit Seattle fairly often to dive in parallel with other responsibility. Any local folks more familiar with three tree give some guidance? I know I can dive Les Davis and Alki but want to explore this locatio...

The real underlying reason for this huge overpass is additional locations for squatter tents and shanty town accommodations.

Re: Seattle area shore dives some guidance or suggestions
Here are three photos from Les Davis Saturday. I was in a place with hundreds maybe 1000’s of tiny nudibranchs. By tiny I mean 5/16” -3/8” long identical to larger ones but quite tiny. I’m no marine biologist but it looked at first thought to be a giant nudi hatch Also I thought about a dive just ea...

Thanks so much for the thoughts and ideas, I'm leaving this afternoon to drive over. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet some of you at these dive sites over the next two weekends

Re: Seattle area shore dives some guidance or suggestions
I would like to dive titlow Saturday if anyone is willing to show me around that site. Would be open to others as well but the titlow site seems easy enough to share with others coming with me later. Not many of the east side divers have good knowledge of Seattle tides. However they all understand p...

Seattle area shore dives some guidance or suggestions
Hello folks. I always feel a bit awkward here, no fault of this site or the visitors. Just my personality. I guess because I don't live in the seattle area its not a "home" feeling for me. I travel in to dive there from the walla walla area..... eastern Wa. My wife is a surgical nurse whic...

Re: Travel to Roatan
I've already booked the trip to coco view. I like the dive schedule by far better than AK. Now the air travel. I've accepted that it will be 800-1000 bucks each. But the layovers are brutal. 8-13 hour layovers are bad for several reasons. The main for me is having to collect your gear and recheck it...

Re: Travel to Roatan
Agreed that the travel from the PNW is unacceptable in many ways. Egypt...... still not faster or cheaper travel though! The liveaboards are dirt cheap. Heck much cheaper than a retirement home or an RV park! The Snefro Love has 7 day trips for 900 bucks!

Travel to Roatan
Hi folks, I've booked my next trip to Roatan for October this year. Now the travel to get there becomes the challenge. If I fly from PDX I can park at the Raddison and get free parking with an over night before or after. Is there such a parking deal in the Seattle area to give me another departure a...

BARE hood vanished at Les Davis Saturday
Hey guys I was diving at Les Davis Saturday and put my orange lined Celient 7mm BARE hood on the roof of my SUV to warm up in the sun between dives. I used the rest room and changed tanks, then while gearing up I realized my hood was gone? Did it blow away? Hard to imagine but nevertheless it was go...

Re: Octo action at Sunrise
I have been diving at surise for years, in all those countless dives I think I can count 5 or less times that I have not seen a GPO. However in my whole life of diving there I have never seen one out in the open this way. They have always been in a crevasse or hole/cave. Lucky you, diving almost alw...

Re: Alki Octo show.
I prefer them not to be so red. If I understand this colour scheme it implies Stress? That may not be correct, but for some reason I have that memory of my education on this. I've seen GPO's that were red from a distance no stress likely. Which makes me think red may be somewhat normal? Wierd that t...

Seeing octopus is my scubagasm in diving
I could spend my whole hour plus dive just watching one move and crawl along the seafloor. So here was my last encounter just happy to share this with the crew here.

Making sure I’m in line with this.
As we approach the end of the jetty the current will dictate the decisions and the point to turn around.
Then: Getting into the water early on Saturday is no issue as long as we are away from the end of the jetty before 1:00 (13:00)
