Re: PVC Drysuit Drying Rack
Here is my version, everyone has a different take on how to make a drier. It was modeled after a Peet shoe drier. It dries suit gently overnight using the heat from a couple of low wattage light bulbs. Makes a great night light too! Its silent for those who are noise intolerant and it is in Diver Bl...

Re: Global dealer?
Are you trying to connect a medical regulator to a SCUBA cylinder? If so it is easy to turn a standard "yoke to DIN" adapter into a "medical post to DIN" by drilling a couple of holes so that the medical reg will seat. I can post a picture tomorrow if that would be helpful.

Re: Argon bottle question
I guess I'm a stroke. I have a couple of suit inflation bottles with the valve/reg combo mentioned above. Since I dive a rebreather I can just plug into my bailout if the argon system is empty or fails. I like the fact that it is low profile and is just there, always working. No extra reg to mess wi...

Re: Port Angeles Dive Park
Yup, you are right. Any argument needs to be put in terms of potential revenue. The point I was trying to make is that the commissioner of public lands is a politician, elected in a state wide election every 4 years, and at least potentially thinks differently than DNR staff. On the other hand thing...

Re: Port Angeles Dive Park
The DNR's problem is that they can't see the forest for the trees. Certain staff get a mind set and then they insulate the decision makers above them from conflicting information. (Typical for large bureaucracies public and private.) The key is to get access to the commissioner of public lands with ...

Thanks to Capt Jack for the open invite and the organization. For that many boats and people things went smoothly. It was an absolute blast.

Good rule, how do you enforce it? I'm tempted to just toss the extra #$%@ over side when the divers go in the water but I've never been that ornery.pensacoladiver wrote:When all divers are in the water, the deck should be completely clear.

Re: Discovery Bay - Ed's Fault & the Warhawk, Feb 20th
I'm going to be at the Keystone launch with my boat about 7:30. It always seems to take nearly an hour to get the boat ready, load the gear and divers. If you are on my boat, plan on getting in your drysuit in Keystone, you will be warmer during the crossing to Discovery Bay. And don't forget warm g...

Re: Apex reg service
I have most of the tools, a tech manual for Apex Regs and have been reading Harlow's "Scuba Regulator Maintenance and Repair". I need a source for rebuild kits, I've got one in my spares box for an emergency rebuild. I need 4 kits, 2 first stage only. I'd still like opinions on good reg te...

Apex reg service
Who is the best reg tech in the area for service? I am located north of Seattle. I am looking for a shop (or individual working out of his garage would be fine) where I can talk directly to the tech. I hate the service model at car dealerships where you talk with an intermediary instead of the guy a...

Re: Discovery Bay - Ed's Fault & the Warhawk, Feb 20th
I did the Warhawk a "while" ago, I want to do that again. And I didn't know about Ed's Fault at the time, so that is a new dive for me.
My boat has space for 3 other (hardy) divers, if space is limited on other boats. I'll be launching from Keystone.
Sounds like fun.

My money is on an octopus. They are very curious. I can imagine one finding the jar, seeing/smelling the contents and diligently working at opening the thing. The octo in the Seattle Aquarium leaving its tank, crossing the floor to another tank, having a meal and then returning "home" come...

The trouble with a bilge pump is that you will need 12volts to run it. I would be thinking "sump pump" if you can not get it to the drain by gravity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sump_pump They sell models that are 12 volt with a battery and charger for backup when the power is out, but yo...

Re: Rockfish - Help me play devil's advocate. NHZ!
I'm not saying I agree with the following, this is in the spirit of the OP:
MPA's are proposed by groups (like scientists and divers) that want the area for their sole use and to exclude fishers. They are anti-democratic.

eReader.com sells a reader for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. It makes for a good reading experience. And you can use the other (usually inexpensive) programs for the Touch and the iPhone.
