Re: BIG new addition at Edmonds Underwater Park
This is one of he coolest features I have yet to see. I mean don't get me wrong, toilets, PVC piping and 5 gallon buckets are the bees knees but this thing is great. I too would love to be involved in helping where I could. I may not have a lot financially to give but if it requires me to dive and ...

Re: Lo"pez" Penetration!!!
how much do they need for the underwater jackhammer? I think there are enough cave nuts and newly minted cave nuts that would donate for that cause that we could probably help them buy the thing by next week... MORE HOLES! MORE PASSAGES!!!!!!! Anyone who can find out what they need $$$ wise just le...

BIG new addition at Edmonds Underwater Park
Today I got the following from Dave Seets, a volunteer at the park: I am happy to report we now have a new dive feature in the Bruce Higgins Underwater Trails! It's true, after two years of permitting and hours of volunteer efforts in preparation, General Construction sank the Lopez Pontoon at 3:00 ...

Re: Salish Sea - it's official now
There is some environmental politics going on. You can't regulate it if it doesn't have a name. I'm not saying that its good or bad, but I'm sure that this is part of the effort to deal with an ecosystem that lies in two jurisdictions. I do like the poetic ring to the name, that's an improvement. In...

Re: DUI Zipper replacement
Yes you can deal with KME directly, a friend did that just before I sent my suit in. The turn around time was a couple of days when dealing directly. However, I was extremely busy at the time and did not have the time to drive to KME and talk to them. The dive shop did that for me (and they did a go...

Re: DUI Zipper replacement
I work near Arlington. I took my DUI to Smokey Point Diving, they ship their suits to KME. I just got it back, turn around time was about 2 weeks. It was in for a zipper and neck seal replacement. I asked that they tank test the suit to locate any other leaks and they fixed a few small ones that wer...

What was the date and the entry time for Skyline? I am still trying to figure out Skyline, I've had one perfect dive there and a couple that were not so perfect. I would appreciate another data point.

Re: In trouble with the law?
I did a little checking and this was only a rumor. The officer who was supposed to have issued the ticket stated that it never happened. Never mind.
I appreciated the posts outlining EUP policy. Seems pretty clear that running a scooter in the park could generate a ticket.

Re: In trouble with the law?
Is this truly a recent story? Because that was the story of the problem from about four or five years ago -- buddy separation on scooters, one diver continued the dive, buddy called EMS and when the diver exited the water, he was met with police and was fined. It was much more than simply getting c...

Re: In trouble with the law?
Interesting. I wonder if it was the "alone" part or the "scootering" part that drew the fine. It could be very possible that it was a "ferry lane encroachment" fine. That does seem rather steep. Both diving alone and scooters are against the rules as I understand them....

In trouble with the law?
Rumor has it that someone got a ticket from the Edmonds constabulary for "scootering in the park alone". It was $1,200.
I was a little shocked when I heard the amount, seems pretty steep to me. Anyone know the details? My condolences to the ticketee.

DNR Lands Commissioner on artificial reefs on the radio
Washington State Lands Commissioner Peter Goldmark was on "The Conversation" today on KUOW. The host fielded a call from a very informed diver named Ross asking about the possibility of sinking an artificial reef. The caller mentioned WSA as trying to get a program started in this state an...

Thanks for posting the video. It's great to see the parts we missed. (I was one of the rebreather divers on Friday and Sunday.) I actually enjoyed both dives. I can't imagine conditions any better than Friday, Sunday was a totally different experience, less viz and much more current. Very exiting! G...

Re: Anyone ever dive Lake Ki?
I don't know much about Lake Ki in particular, the Bathymetry looks good, http://www.co.snohomish.wa.us/documents/Departments/Public_Works/SurfaceWaterManagement/Ki_Outline.pdf I would try the east side of the 70' dip, where there is a bit of steep slope. The dive flag is absolutely necessary, but ...

Lost bubble deflector at Redondo.
I was putting gear together for this weekend and noticed I am missing half a bubble deflector on my Apex XTX50. (The halves of the deflector snap together so that the second stage can be changed to accommodate large or small deflectors.) I had the regulator in the water at Redondo last weekend. In c...
