Re: Anyone have a Salvo 12W LED?

I have one and like it - a lot. Easy to maintain, tougher than an HID. For what its worth my own feeling is that HID is not a good technology for diving and I wouldn't own one. Its my personal bias.

Friend's blowtorch HIDs are brighter, but are more fragile, more costly and bulky. My .02

Re: Galapagos Islands

Great pictures, thanks for posting. My favorite dive trip was on the Galapagos Aggressor II. Every dive was fantastic. If you go, make sure your live aboard has Darwin and Wolf islands on the itinerary. I had one dive at Wolf island where I could have just turned the video camera on and not bothered...

Re: Is it legal to snorkel with Salmon?

Getting sick from stormwater pollution (particularly fecal coliforms) is a definite concern. I'd be looking for places outside the urban area, like maybe the Stilly Well, I know the landowner of a site on Jim Creek, a tributary of the Stilly. Today I spoke with a fish biologist that said she saw a ...

Re: need advice on a good reel for tech diving.

Kent Tooling's ratchet reel is really a cut above all the others. Very ergonomic and built like there proverbial brick %&#* house. You can probably take 4 pounds of lead off your kit by carrying one. They don't have a web based ordering system (or at least didn't when I purchased mine). You must...

Its mine! I'll describe the bills so you know they belong to me. The 20 has a picture of jefferson on the front and is green. The 10 has a picture of Hamilton and it too is green. PM me for my mailing address. I'll mail you postage when I get the cash.

Re: Sound off (Edmonds and Dive Site Dev Plan)

Occasionally I show up and get in Bruce's way why he tries to gets the work done. The best way to see what is happening at the UWP is to show up on Saturday for a dive. We meet at 9:00am at the Edmonds Underwater Sports store. We do most of our park planning there and on the surface swim to the day'...

Re: Camano Is. Dives?

I had the boat out Sunday and decided to check out the Camano sites again. "The Wall" at Pebble Beach - Now I am not sure this is actually a wall. The charts indicate a very steep drop off but I could not confirm that with my depth sounder. I have seen a post on a local board a few years b...

Re: Camano Is. Dives?

I was unclear, I was describing 2 different sites, hence the confusion. The cave story was about diving off Camano State Park. The mini wall is a different dive on Camano. It does not have shore access to my knowledge, it looks like the uplands are privately owned. The wall is immediately off the be...

Re: Camano Is. Dives?

I just looked at a chart, it is a little over 5 nm south of Camano State park, on the west side of the island and a bit north of Camano Head. It is a little point called Pebble Beach. It is on my "to do" list. Want to go?

Re: Camano Is. Dives?

I'm new here, and have not set up an avatar yet. Note to self... I used to live within sight of the Onamac reef, and have dived it three times I think. It is not dived very often, I would see a few dive boats a year on the site. Shore access is not an option unless you know someone in the Onamac Poi...
