Re: GPO at Redondo

I was disappointed on Thursday's dive when I looked under the boat and found only a beer can. If they did take the GPO, that is very poor form. I hope that they did not do this.

And at only 21 fsw, one spare air would easily get you to the surface and back again!! \:D/

Re: 2/5/09, Thursday night dive(s)

Keith, Jeff, Ron, Bob, Mrs Bob, Val, Jackie. Fun diving with everyone. I enjoyed the post dive tailgate gathering. I will bring the heater to more of the Thursday Night Dives. Ordered a new G10 camera and housing today. I will attach it to a D ring this time. Live another day to take better picture...

Re: Jet Fin Question

I recently purchased a set of used Scuba pro Jet fins on Ebay . I was using split fins. The buoyancy is definitely negative. I have heard that the oms fins are neutral to slightly positive. I really like the jet's as well and have had no issues with cramping.

Everyone went to Sunrise instead. The parking lot was full of divers gearing up when we arrived. We had to prark in the grass at the far end of the lot.

Re: Viz Reports Thread

My wife and I dove Sunrise this morning, and Les Davis this afternoon. We all read the currents the same way, as the parking lot at Sunrise was full when we arrived!! Viz was about 15 feet. The current stayed stronger than we had expected but it was still a fun dive. Didn't see as many octo's as the...

Re: Awesome day in The Hood ...

I'm so jealous that I couldn't make this trip, Tom. We've got to set up another Monday sometime soon. Yes - I'd love to. If we could get someone to take a day off, You, me, Bill, & Keith would be a great start to filling the boat. I'm guessing it wouldn't be hard to find another diver or two! M...

Re: Viz Reports Thread

We dove Redondo just after Cardiver and Benoit this evening. Never saw more than 10 ft viz. All that rain sure did wash in a lot of silt and other debris. Water temp down to 44f. Naah, that's what you get for diving the same site after cardiver. :smt064 :bootyshake: It was the seals! That's my stor...

Re: Plane crash, divers gearing up!

I've long held that a "water landing" is in fact, just a crash. No way man. Forced landing on departure with full passengers and fuel. And they (two pilots) didn't break it up? That's a landing if there ever was one, and you won't find a pilot anywhere who says otherwise. -Ben I agree, th...

My wife and I have an evening dive planned tonight at Redondo and then on Friday it's time for, um, er, MONSTER TRUCKS! :supz: Hopefully we will do a 2 tank dive somewhere on Saturday. Should be a fun weekend.

Re: Playa Del Carmen

If you have someone pick you up rather than driving, you don't really need to rent a car (or learn how to drive using Mexican Traffic Laws :book: ).! That brings up another question. I don't want to rent a car. Do the hotels offer shuttle services from the airport? If not, any recomendations on how...

Playa Del Carmen

My wife and I are looking at flying down to Cancun and staying in Playa Del Carmen for a quick vacation. It looks like we will be going the end of March. We will only be able to dive 3 days and would like to do a Cenote dive. I have never been there and am looking for advice on reputable dive shops ...

Day Island works for us. We will not be able to make the second dive. The currents are good enough that we have to dive Sunrise or Day Island.

Re: what dives stand out for the year?

My wife and I were certified in April of this year after several years of contemplating. I have now logged 41 dives and I get excited every time I plan a dive. I find myself day dreaming about diving and wondering how my life would be different if I would have acted years before. I am blessed that m...

I was just thinking about this as well. With the garden hose frozen solid, I'm not sure how I would fill up the rinse tubs with water. Guess I should bring a short garden hose in the garage to unthaw it a little in case I go diving this weekend. However if it snows on Thursday, overtime possibilitie...

Thanks to Keith, Ron and Tom for an unbelievable dive!! Reflecting on this mornings dive and trying come up with the correct words to describe it, I'm just unable to! This was dive #40 for me and was easily the longest and most memorable! My first time to Sunrise and I can't wait to go back. Bob
