I'm out! Surface viz at LD didn't look very good this morning. Ya, go figure! I'm Just going to lock myself in the house and listen to Jimmy Buffett music all night and dream of a sunny, warm beach.

Re: Which drysuit?

Do a search for dry suit on Craigslist and also on Scubaboard. I bought my Apollo dry suit on CL for $400 and it was like new. I now have over 100 dives on it and have had no issues with it. Still have the original seals.

Re: Diving Tacoma Waterfront, Thursday 2-9-12

Thanks to Eliseaboo and Bassman for a great day of diving on Thursday! Just as predicted, there was not much to see at the Chinese Garden site. Keith and I did find identical liquor bottles that are post prohibition, but still cool! I would like to do this site again in the summer and focus on bottl...

Re: Drysuit Glove System - Which is best?

I'm suprised to hear anyone say they don't like the Viking Bayonet System. I'm not sure what you don't like about them, but I'd be interested to hear DiverBob. I have not used the cuff rings, only the bayonet system. I have been unable to get the dang things to lock consistently. Yes, I make sure t...

Re: Drysuit Glove System - Which is best?

Regarding the Viking dry gloves, there are 2 types. Type #1 is the Dry Glove Cuff Ring and type #2 is the Viking Bayonet Ring system. http://www.scubacenter.com/scubacenter_onlinestore/drysuit_accessories/viking_dry_gloves.htm Tom, you have the Cuff Rings not the Bayonet Ring. I dive the Bayonet Rin...

A new Olympus M4/3 Camera, OM-D E-M5!

Olympus just released a new Camera today, the E-M5. http://www.dpreview.com/previews/olympusem5/ This looks to be a great new Micro 4/3 camera and Olympus already has an underwater housing for it, the PT-EO8. $1K for just the body, so it's definitely on the expensive side. Hopefully it will live up ...

Re: DIW & Titlow 2/2/12

Great dive this morning at DIW and Titlow Beach. Sure is nice to get out early and watch the sun rise while under water! Mr. Angry (I think) was out walking his dogs when we finished the dive. He had a puppy that looked like an Australian Shepherd, but with a tail. Since Julie and I have a Aussie, I...

Re: Slug hunting at Titlow today

Terrific shots!! =D> That sure is an impressive rig. With the converter, that is 126mm, 35mm equivalent. Does it take some practice to get used to shooting at that focal length? I have a D90 for my above the water use, not plans to take it under water. I am still using the YS-90 strobe that you sold...

New Canon Powershot G1 X

Canon just released the PowerShot G1 X as well as 2 Elph cameras. The intriguing part is the large 1.5" sensor, just 20% smaller than most Canon DSLR's. It's very expensive and pudgy, but I'm sure there will be many after market housing's available in the future. I sure wouldn't use the Canon h...
