hey, who needs editing? that last part sounds highly entertaining. ;-)Grateful Diver wrote:If I can find somebody who knows what to do with an AVI file. I'd like to edit it somewhat ... the first 15 or 20 seconds are the shark, and the last 10 seconds or so are me trying to figure out how to turn the camera off.

from the "Octo Wednesday???" thread: I, and three others are diving Mukilteo T-Dock at 8:30 a.m., Sunday the 30th. someone else said they are always up for mukilteo and that i should maybe start a thread if i was interested, so here it is .... i'm a total newb and i haven't done any dives...

*LOL* yeah; i was just trying not to go there. ;-)Sounder wrote:Then there's the extra insulation some of us are blessed with... that helps A LOT! Similar to marine mammals, some of us have extra insulation to keep us warm.
perhaps once i can control my buoyancy a bit better, i too will get to chase crabs!

I dove at Mukilteo on Saturday in a 7mm wetsuit and was uncomfortably warm. I was unzipping, opening my hood, and taking my gloves off trying to cool off by letting water in. while you were diving??? if so, i'm guessing your internal heater works much better than mine! how's that for diplomatic? ;-...

sent you a pm, but had another comment. it sounds like you are a new diver. (sorry if i missed that somewhere.) so ... did you wear a wetsuit on your ow dives? how cold did you get? if you plan to dive around here, i'd use that as a good gauge. i did my ow dives in a wetsuit (2-piece 7mm) and i live...

thanks, pinkpadigal! it's always helpful to hear someone's experiences with different kinds of suits, the reasoning behind their preferences, and what they see as the possible benefits and drawbacks to them. this type of information is really appreciated by someone like me - who's only exposure expe...

i haven't TOTALLY written them off; just certainly leaning away from them. and i wasn't really planning to wear my down jacket - that was just meant to evoke some humor. but ... as for the bubble ... i hopefully won't have to contend with that much air in my drysuit! #-o i do have to admit that thos...

i checked out their website. (as i too am in need of an affordable drysuit.) it looks like they have pretty nice-looking suits. their neoprene suit has a huge front diagonal zipper, so i don't think it'll be much more difficult to put on than the trilam (if at all). one of my concerns with getting n...
