Re: Sneaking up on spatman ninja style

dave (ORdiver) and i were minding our own bizness on his RIB, when we noticed all these bubbles coming up in front of the boat, as if there was a freeflowing reg surrounded by a school of farting rockfish. "surely some diver is having a massive problem down there. should we jump in see if we c...

Re: Any Commercial Fishermen here that dive?

I looked and could not find any laws governing the catch/consumption of grunt sculpins. Knowing the tendancy of us Oregon divers to be spear fisherman I am currently in the development stage of a tiny spear gun geared toward this innocent, yet potentially delicious species. I am thinking of a southe...

Re: Any Commercial Fishermen here that dive?

You should do an intruductory post that says a little bit about yourself. People will be more likely to respond to your posts. Right now it seems, from your posts, that you may be someone looking for live Grunt Sculpins to put in an aquarium or...eat? Are you a scientist or a strange consumer of liv...

Re: Newb trying to find Grunt Sculpins in Oregon waters.

I have seen grunt sculpins in Tillamook Bay along the jetty when the tide was cooperating. They are pretty well camouflaged though and can be hard to spot unless you look but they are definitely out there. There is the Barview Jetty Campground Right by the Tillamook Bay north jetty so if your family...

Nice work Stan! I do think you might need a few more rod holders though. I'll be up soon to pick up "Scuba Doo 1" and give you some cash to help pay for all that. great job, stan! i wish i had welding skills like that and the space for it too! when you're done with this project, let's talk...

Re: I got a new drysuit.

I can't think of any "terrible issues" that this suit would cause for you. I would just get in some shallow water with all your gear on and about 600psi in your tank and get your weighting correct. Keep your weights nearby so that you can add them easily as needed. I get kind of cold so I ...

Re: Adive on the big computer purchase (size advice only)

I prefer to just strap a pack of cigarettes to my wrist. It is about the size of a predator but far cheaper and less complicated. I am a little disappointed about the lack of features that pertain to diving though.

Re: Looking for crabbing, clamming, etc. buddy

I'll let you know the next time I'm heading out there. Haven't done any crabbing but I know Tillamook Bay is full of clams past where humans with rakes can reach them. There's also some nice sites there to check out the sea life. I will have a boat this summer which will make coastal diving much nic...

You guys should catch a Stanley Cup championship game at a pub up there if you're anywhere near one. It should be fun with the Canucks in it and all, eh.
