Re: Saturday April 20th Redondo Clean up dive, meet at 8am

Yep it is. Redondo is less current sensitive than many other sites, that's why we can pull it off. Redondo can sometimes have unexpected current, known to divers as the Redondo River. Usually it is short lived and at the bottom of a very large ebb, but not always. Just out of curiosity and future p...

Unfortunately I'm out. Just too few nights at home with the family between my last business trip and my next one to spend an evening diving.

Amazing photos, both above and below the surface. God’s Pocket is definitely on my list of places to visit.

Re: Viz Reports Thread

Redondo on April 9 was 10'-15' by the MaST center (maybe due to the low tide, recent rain and outfall there), but closer to 20'-25' a bit farther north.

Re: ThThTh 4/4 Hopefully Pink Tritonia Edition

My wife and I finally made it down to Redondo today and went looking for the pink tritonia nudis. We found one that was just south of the vw bug -- it looked like a huge pink loaf of bread. North of the bug and rock wall were tons of striped nudibranchs. We also saw the cutest octopus hiding in the ...

Re: ThThTh 4/4 Hopefully Pink Tritonia Edition

Head out to the bug and rock "wall". Start there and search north 45 to 35 few. Found over a dozen, starting out that direction. Tons of large nudies of 4 or 5 varieties hanging out with the sea pens. Wish I could be there.... :-( Just out of curiosity, I know where the bug is, but I am n...

Want to Buy: XL-Tall Drysuit

I'm looking for a gently used drysuit for my first suit. I'm 6'4" and 220lbs, so something around an XL-Tall is usually the right size. I'd prefer a front-zipper tri-laminate suit and would like to spend less than $1000.

“Marigold” dry gloves with DUI wrist Zip Seals

My wife and I are researching the purchase of our first drysuits and are considering the DUI Yukon II. We have been renting Santi drysuits and have had good success using marigold rubber gloves with liners as dry gloves pulled over the rings that are on the Santis’ wrists. I understand that the Yuko...

Re: Looking for Key Largo Recommendations

Thanks, Bill. I spoke with my boss and he's now signed up for a pool refresher in Reno this weekend. Hopefully that will help things go more smoothly.

You are the second person that has suggested Horizon Divers to me, so I'll reach out to them and see what we can come up with.

Cheers,

-Doug

Looking for Key Largo Recommendations

I'm going to be down in South Florida in a few weeks for a business meeting. The meeting starts Monday night, so my boss and I are going to try to dive in Key Largo during the day Monday. He is AOW certified, but hasn't dived for about 10 years and needs a refresher. He has asked me to arrange a pri...

Another Kona Trip Report

My wife, 16yo daughter and I spent the week on the big island last week. We're relatively new divers having all earned our Open Water and Drysuit certifications in the past 6 month. This was our first diving-focused vacation. My daughter is prone to seasickness, so we decided to emphasize shore divi...
