Answer (and not to ruin it for others): About 0.25-0.35 cu feet/min less than what my RMV is. I got .45: 54 / 33 + 1 = 2.63636 ATA 92 cu ft / ( 77 min * 2.53636 ATA ) = .45320 cu ft / min / ata (which is about equal to my personal best ever) Exactly what I got. My RMV actually dipped below 0.7 rece...

Bob: You sure you were even breathing?? \:D/ That like a breath every 15 seconds. Indeed it is. For reference, dig up the video of the Six Gill Bob posted on the Six Gill sightings sticky over on northwestdiver. The slow, almost silent breaths are Bob's. The "omigod, that is a big freakin' sha...

Perhaps it's time for you to start putting together a save-a-dive kit ... reg hoses are an easy field repair if you have a spare hose ... ... Bob (Grateful Diver) A good point, I've been putting together a save-a-dive kit that has the basics in it, but it needs to be built up. I had an extra HP hos...

D- That's what you get for not having Dan do it for you #-o Seriously, sorry to hear you guys weren't able to get out, but kudos to both of you for recognizing the problem and for having the discipline to call the dive. Dan does everything from here on out . . . I must admit, it was painful to call...

Well, tonight was a good example of why we should always do bubble checks . . . After getting fills at NWSD, Chris and I met up at Edmonds. We cobbled together regs for Chris using my backup Salvos and his older console as instruments. After getting the new BP/W fitted we hit the water about 6:30 fo...

Re: Day Island Wall ...

Did a nice 77-minute dive at Day Island Wall with Pete Gelbman last night. Man, it was crowded down there with at least 30 divers in the water. But there was little current, the vis was decent, and there was lots to see ... spotted 11 wolfies, 3 octos, and 3 dogfish along with all the other usual s...

Doug, I may want to hook up for a dive tomorrow. Evening? What time does NWSD close? I would need to rent a tank, regs and weights. What do you think? BDub is right, it will take a while to get adjusted. Let's go mess around at Edmonds, I've been wanting to explore that place. We could do the eveni...

I hope I can get at least one dive in 'cause after Sat. I'm out of the water for a week. Chris, you got my digits, call me if you want to shoehorn a dive in on Saturday-maybe even Edmonds or someplace up to the north because I'll have to get some fills at NWSD beforehand. We can put blindfolds on a...

Having gone through the drysuit thing in the last few months (I now have about 30 dives in a drysuit), I'd second the suggestion to talk to Bob about using ankle weights. There are other options out there to deal with floaty feet, in particular, I used gaiters for the first 20 or so dives in a drysu...

TLG- Just saw this, if you still want to get a dive in, I could do 6:30 at Cove 2. We'd probably be getting out of the water a little before 8, so a bit before sunset. My contact information is a http://www.stoel.com, do a search for "Doug Steding." That will get you my work phone and emai...

NWSD has a good deal on nitrox-they have two levels, the first is $125/yr (IIRC) that gets you nitrox for $5/fill, and free air fills. The second is $500/yr for unlimited nitrox fills. I think nitrox is regularly $10. hmm; you might double-check that. i think nitrox is "regularly" $12 - b...

I just drilled the end of the pins with a bit slightly bigger than the pin diameter. Once the end of the pins was zapped, the rest was easy. I used channel locks and a pair of needle nose pliers to open up the d-rings on the spring straps, and then the channel locks to close them down again.

I have four tanks, and it isn't enough. Six seems to be about right-that way you can have three tanks at the shop waiting to get filled and have three out for a cruise. Of course, all the tanks in the world don't help when you have to work all the time . . . it is 7 pm, I am sitting at work and gett...
