Answer (and not to ruin it for others): About 0.25-0.35 cu feet/min less than what my RMV is. I got .45: 54 / 33 + 1 = 2.63636 ATA 92 cu ft / ( 77 min * 2.53636 ATA ) = .45320 cu ft / min / ata (which is about equal to my personal best ever) Exactly what I got. My RMV actually dipped below 0.7 rece...

Perhaps it's time for you to start putting together a save-a-dive kit ... reg hoses are an easy field repair if you have a spare hose ... ... Bob (Grateful Diver) A good point, I've been putting together a save-a-dive kit that has the basics in it, but it needs to be built up. I had an extra HP hos...

D- That's what you get for not having Dan do it for you #-o Seriously, sorry to hear you guys weren't able to get out, but kudos to both of you for recognizing the problem and for having the discipline to call the dive. Dan does everything from here on out . . . I must admit, it was painful to call...

Well, tonight was a good example of why we should always do bubble checks . . . After getting fills at NWSD, Chris and I met up at Edmonds. We cobbled together regs for Chris using my backup Salvos and his older console as instruments. After getting the new BP/W fitted we hit the water about 6:30 fo...

Re: Day Island Wall ...
Did a nice 77-minute dive at Day Island Wall with Pete Gelbman last night. Man, it was crowded down there with at least 30 divers in the water. But there was little current, the vis was decent, and there was lots to see ... spotted 11 wolfies, 3 octos, and 3 dogfish along with all the other usual s...

Doug, I may want to hook up for a dive tomorrow. Evening? What time does NWSD close? I would need to rent a tank, regs and weights. What do you think? BDub is right, it will take a while to get adjusted. Let's go mess around at Edmonds, I've been wanting to explore that place. We could do the eveni...

It IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Cold, clouds, rain, snow... GREAT VIS!!! \:D/ Chris-let us know when it shows up! I'm now getting excited for you, the torus sounds like a great rig . . . Speaking of improving viz, having starting diving around here last March (my first dive was in pea...

I hope I can get at least one dive in 'cause after Sat. I'm out of the water for a week. Chris, you got my digits, call me if you want to shoehorn a dive in on Saturday-maybe even Edmonds or someplace up to the north because I'll have to get some fills at NWSD beforehand. We can put blindfolds on a...

Having gone through the drysuit thing in the last few months (I now have about 30 dives in a drysuit), I'd second the suggestion to talk to Bob about using ankle weights. There are other options out there to deal with floaty feet, in particular, I used gaiters for the first 20 or so dives in a drysu...

Nice report BDub, you just put NC on my list of dive destinations when I get the experience and training to do those dives . . . Doug, the diving was far better than I had hoped for. I didn't expect to see the amount of life we did. Definitely worth the trip once, but I'm looking forward to go back...

NWSD has a good deal on nitrox-they have two levels, the first is $125/yr (IIRC) that gets you nitrox for $5/fill, and free air fills. The second is $500/yr for unlimited nitrox fills. I think nitrox is regularly $10. This also gets you good discounts (in my experience, around 10%) off of other stuf...

I have four tanks, and it isn't enough. Six seems to be about right-that way you can have three tanks at the shop waiting to get filled and have three out for a cruise. Of course, all the tanks in the world don't help when you have to work all the time . . . it is 7 pm, I am sitting at work and gett...

Its too bad it gets lost in all the DIR vs. Rebreather junk, because the problems highlighted in this incident really don't require any particular religion to see. Flopping around without a fin, without a guideline, with limited gas (because you lost track of a cylinder you were trailing around beh...
