I sure wouldn't wish harm on the guy either. Bob's teachings were also running through my head as I read this guy's stories. One bad decision after another, any one of which would have broken the chain . . . These stories remind me of the bar exam. In Washington, the bar exam is a series of short hy...

I don't know about the OMS light, but I'll put my two psi in for Salvo-for about that price (I got my 21 W, 14.4v, 4.5A NIMH for $1040) you can get a hell of a nice light. It uses the newer, stronger bulbs-one of the demonstrations that the folks at Salvo do is throw it across the room, something no...

The eel grass is covered with them-I was at Edmonds yesterday afternoon, and the hooded nudis were everywhere.

One of the cool things we saw was a shrimp eating a (non-hooded) nudi. I didn't realize shimp ate such things.

Current visibility report . . .

I just realized that there isn't a thread on visibility on this board yet, so I thought I'd create one . . . it is one of the resources I follow fairly closely on other boards. Given the great vis we've had, it makes sense to start it when people have good things to report. My report is a bit dated,...

So, this is next week, Lynne has scared up a bunch of great mentors, including, quite possibly, the board's own Lamont (providing he follows Bob's advice and lays off the chili-cheese fries), and Bob (Grateful Diver) . . . In fact, Lynne is a bit worried we don't have enough newer divers. So, if any...

Re: Search and Recovery

See Doug, theres value in what we learned. The next time someone needs you to dive for their lost whatever, you can charge them the price of a SK7. That's really a bummer about your compass. I hope someone finds it for you. Yeah, such is life. I'm diving with a friend on Thursday, she's doing her f...

Bummer.. The wife and I will probably dive cove 3 tonight. I'll keep my eyes out for it.. We will start the dive on the right end of the cove at about 25 fsw and head toward the pillars. I think we may see some of the 45 fsw areas.. If you find it, that would be amazing, it could be anywhere from t...

Lost in Cove 3: Suunto SK7

It dropped off my wrist somewhere in the middle of Cove 3, above about 45 fsw or so. If found, I'd love to have it back, although this one is a long-shot for sure.

How's their fill station? Do they have one? I'm a bit picky about such things, and usually drive to FifthD or NWSD, but sometimes I don't have the time to go that far (I need more tanks, I guess).

BDub-

Just confirming, Matt said a meet time of 8 tomorrow, is that right (your first post here has a departure time of 8 am, which means I'd have to get my butt in gear a half an hour earlier tomorrow).

Kirk and I are planning on departing north Seattle at 6:15.

For the newer divers

Lynne (TSandM on Scubaboard) asked me to cross post this here: Bob (Grateful Diver) had the brilliant idea of organizing monthly mentor dives a while back, and Lynne has taken initiative to keep them going. Next dive will be August 22nd at Cove 2, they are usually after work, show up, get paired up ...

Yes, it is a good deal-to clarify, the instructor is not me, but stardiver over on SB, I met her last night at dinner, and she made a great first impression.

She's a teacher by profession as well, and we chatted a bit about her class, if I wasn't already nitrox certified, I'd be doing this for sure.

Ntrox benefit class for Kimber (TeckDiverGirl over on SB)

All, I'm cross posting this here for those of you interested in a nitrox class. I met Luann last night-she strikes me as a great instructor and this is for a good cause: ***** From: http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=147373 As someone who knew Kimber during her tenure in "waterless hell...

Bob, are you scheming?

Sounder, let's dive when we get a chance. I'm gone from the 23rd until after the fourth, sounds like you are gone until Mid-July, so let's just play it by ear and see how things line up.

Bob, looking forward to AOW with you, it sounds like a very usefull class.
