Re: Octopus Hole 3/26
Sund Rock was PACKed on Saturday.... Diving with someone who's never been there. Dropped to 50' turned left and ran right in to the ship wreck. How fun. Hovered around the bottom then drifted around the bow marveling at the ling cods. The vis was okay, maybe 20' or so. Came around looking at the dec...

Jan, What everyone else said. As a relatively new diver I learn so much from you. But now I have to thank you for giving me a glimpse into your personal history. I am thankful for you and your brothers tenacity. Your stories, as young divers, are entertaining and educational. Thank you for your cont...

What nwbobber said! Welcome, and I'm glad you are planning AOW. Have you checked out Brian and Jeanna's training? Goggle Frogkick diving. They definitely helped us take our diving to a most awesome, fun, safer level.

Diving at Octopus hole 7/31/2010, saw this guy at about 30 feet. I'm not the best photographer, so sorry, this is the best pic I got. Anyone know what it is?

Re: UTD Essentials
I have been diving for about 2 years and have around 100 dives logged. Since taking the UTD essentials class I feel like 'diver'. I am excited to be diving. I am a good buddy, and a good diver. Do I need to practice the skills I learned? Yes! Is there more for me to learn, 'oh yeah'! But I finally c...

Re: Brain dump on Oregon coast diving
Thanks for the info! We've been scouting places to dive in Oregon for a while now. We did 3 Graces in August. It was very nice. 15-20 viz, and loads of things to see. The crabs coming up out of the sand was a riot! There didn't seem to be places to get air fills on the northern coast. How is it furt...

Wow! What a treat! Thanks for sharing the pics and the experience. I've done just a little snorkeling in the springs in FLA, and with the manatees, I just love the pics! Re: Navigation skills (or lack thereof)
Do you use something to write on when you are diving? It's handy to make notes of things like the depth you need to get back to, some of the things your observations. For me it helps to record the things that need remembering for when I want to return to the starting point. You can also use this for...

Re: I COULD BURST
Last February when we did our open water cert at Mike Beach the water was 42. I wasn't really cold, our dives were really pretty short, as vis was non-exsistant to say the least. But when I took my mask off and replaced it I had a hard time because I couldn't feel my face! #-o Post OW cert my totall...

Having watched this thread, I just want to post my support. There are so many examples of the damage non-native species do, I support eliminating them before they have a chance to wipe out the native species. Thanks. Melissa

Re: Edmonds Oil Dock to be removed soon.
I'm in agreement, it is unfortunate that the the pilings were ever put in the water full of toxins. However, since they are now there, and are obviously a thriving ecosystem, I would be all for lobbying to create something for the critters to land on and hopefully attach to prior to pulling the pili...
