Alki Cove 1 lost light

Hi All, Lost my UK HID 100 today doing checkout dives at Cove 1. It was on the sidewalk, but likely got mixed up between the gear of all the classes. If anyone came across it, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help.

Nice pics. The Waihuka shark dive is a favorite of mine. We'll worth the price. Where did you stay and who did you dive with?

Instructor interested in Adaptive SCUBA

Does anyone know of a Course Director in the area that teaches Adaptive SCUBA? I'm very interested in working with divers with disabilities and helping them to explore the underwater world. Just not sure if there is anyone around that has a focus on this yet.

Thanks in advance.

Good directions to 3 tree N

Wondering if anyone can give good directions to 3 Tree. I've seen the semi-dirs on perfectdive, but any turn-by-turn tips folks have on this board would really help. BTW, coming from North Seattle. Thanks in advance!

Re: Buoyancy Control

All great advice. Do what you are comfortable with and experiment to find out. I also dive a shell suit, and one thing I've found useful for keeping the air out of my feet is using fin keepers. Just little rubber straps that go over your feet and keep the air from creating a bubble in there.

Cove 2 this morning was pretty good viz. 15-20 ft. It didn't rain until we were coming out, and at that point we're wet anywyay. :supz:

Re: Good crabbing?

From the WDFW site they have opened up some zones and kept some closed. http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/shelfish/crab/index.htm I'm not super familiar with the boundry lines of the areas and the map they provide sucks, but here is what I can tell: Agreed, that map sucks! Looking at it, I thought Muk was in...

Re: You may want to re-think your offer...

If you get a big buddy dive going, please let me know. I'll keep my eye on the forums since it is my favorite place to blow off work at anyway, but I would love to get some tips. My instructors have limited time to go out given their classes etc, so getting time with a "pro" has been chall...

Re: Viz Reports Wanted

Soooooo jealous! I'm travelling for work this week and can't get back in the water until Friday (fly-time restraints and all). :crybaby: I sure hope it holds up. I was at Cove 2 last Thursday, and it was epic (even for a noob like me based on Grateful's post on it). Sounds like it's gotten even bett...

Re: NWUE Buddy Group

The concept from the site seems pretty cool. Are y'all planning to put out a book on the dive sites you've found eventually? I'm just a full-on noob at this point (13 dives and counting since OW in June), but maybe once I've gained some more experience/skills I'll get a dive or 50 in with you guys (...

Re: I got narced today!

Thanks to everyone who has posted on this thread. I had my first narc this weekend, and as it was happening I remembered reading this thread a few weeks back and it actually helped me through it. We were headed to the satelite dish at Mukilteo and at about 90fsw, I suddenly had the feeling that I wa...

Re: Viz Reports Wanted

Cove 2 Friday afternoon/evening was ~30 once you got down past 35 fsw. Best I've ever seen, but then again I'm new to diving the sound. All the other times I've been I've been lucky to get 10 ft viz. I sure hope this holds out for a while. Doing Muk tomorrow morning and would love to have good viz.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm looking forward to meeting and diving with you.

By the way, this board is awesome! =D> So much info to be gleaned on everything from dive sights to gear and skills. Looks like I just found another place to burn countless work hours. :book:

Hi All!

Just got certified in early June and love what the Sound offers so far. Can't wait to meet some of you and start developing my buddy list. I have a few friends that dive, but it never hurts to have A LOT of friends that dive. See you on the beaches! :salute:
