Port Townsend or Olympic Peninsula SUNDAY 5/27

A beautiful day to dive here in PT! But my buddy can't make it.

Are you diving here today? Wanna dive? Happy to go just about anywhere.

... Fort Worden

I see several people suggesting hydrogen peroxide. I'm not so sure that's a good idea as it can easily damage tissues.

Re: PSA: Nauticam using images without permission!

Did you take legal action against the magazine? No. They are a non-profit, trying to do good things. Legal action would have just cost us all time and money. 'Tis a shame. I would have gladly given them permission, but instead they chose to be inconsiderate. Another time, a photo thief stole -- and...

Re: Cost for regulator service

The number of dives on the reg will have little to do with the cost unless something is broken or badly corroded; the same parts and service are performed regardless of whether the reg has a 1000 dives or zero. That said, I also had a hog D1 and two second stages serviced recently. The final price w...

Re: Port Angeles, 3/10?

How about neah Bay this summer ? I would totally be up for Neah Bay, schedule permitting! How is that dive (Ediz Hook), Glenn? I haven't done it. Hi Eric, it's okay. Not as good as Keystone or PT, limited amounts of life, but unique because of all the logs. Visibility is usually a bit better there ...

How much is "a lot"?

A half cup is probably okay, it likely dribbles in when you're venting air out. A liter is not okay.

Hey now. It is an floating junkyard, no equivocation. But still a lot of fun... assuming the boat continues working.

I was hoping to make it to GP myself. Sad to hear it's going away.

Found a rounded-bottom blob-top in Townsend Bay this morning. Nice color, and a frosted beach glass look.

Not sure yet whether I will leave the barnacles on or not.

Port Angeles, 3/10?

Sort of a last minute dive idea... I need to get out of town and dive somewhere different. Anybody interested in diving Ediz Hook on Saturday? Should be good weather. We do a morning dive, have lunch, and maybe hop over to Lake Crescent to clean the gear. I'm thinking 2 dives, open circuit, 100cuft ...

Re: Orange Sea Pens, Flabellina verrucosa, and Other Predators

We saw thousands of juvenile sea pens today off of Port Townsend, pretty much straight out from the Maritime Center boat ramp. All within the 30-50ft range.

There were a few around here years ago but none lately, until now. I'll be interest to see how many survive. No nudis were seen...yet.

Re: Keystone Jetty

We did a "drift" from the pilings to the jetty yesterday. I put drift in quotes because the current was so light it was actually a swim. And it's a looong swim if you aren't being helped along. Also, the thick rope that leads from the pilings ends about 2/3 of the way. There is a large anc...

Re: MLK Dive @ Keystone (or somewhere else?)

Let’s splash at 10. I’m going to be taking the 8am ferry from Mukilteo (and will make a stop at Pickle’s - hopefully their open). Yay! Diving! I have a reservation on the 8am ferry from PT. If anyone would like to tag along, I have another seat in the truck and I can bring an extra HP 100 of nitrox...

Me! I'm good to go. What's the plan? Meet at 10 or splash at 10?

I'd like to do two dives. I'll be taking the ferry from Port Townsend if anyone would like to carpool.
