Regarding local popularity... Lots of us know about sidemount but few use it here; I think there's still a lot of inertia with back-mounted doubles. I'd like to practice sidemount 'just because', if I could find an instructor to help me set up the configuration. But would probably not use it locally...

That's when I would start being cautious. But that wasn't in Puget Sound, was it? I don't think I've ever seen water colder than maybe 43F here.

For years I've used the on-line, numbered nautical charts NOAA produces. These are web versions of the exact same printed charts you can (or could) buy.
