Yeah, I don't know what i was thinking when i said stainless. Aluminum would be much better Scott! It does have to be removable for storage purposes, as well as the boat being used for much more than diving. Primarily Salmon and Halibut fishing. I dive a 5 mil compressed neoprene drysuit with a 100 weight polartec fleece jumpsuit. nothing really? I'll put the harness on the backplate and add the backpad as a package for $250? the comfort harness with stainless backplate new is over $350 as quoted by a LDS

Give Seven Seas Scuba a call and ask about their May class for sidemount. The will be doing it immediately prior to the NWD Show... The dude that wrote the PADI Distinctive Specialty for Sidemount is teaching it.

I'm going to TRY to try it as well.

Which ones do you use? Mine seem to be far too small to secure a backup light or just about anything else for that matter.
