Re: In Memoriam: Lynne Flaherty (LCF, TSandM)

I was an unexperienced diver when I first met Lynne on Scubaboard. I was motivated by a new obsession and armed with a c-card that said I'm a scuba diver - I wasn't comfortable in the water (because I had only learned to swim weeks before), had just done check out dives in Koh Phi Phi and ready to g...

Re: Diver Missing Near Cape Flattery

Peter has posted on SB about it. Unfortunately, it's not the good news we've all been hoping for: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=513219 Maybe she came back up and got swept out. Maybe when it's dark her light will help them find her. +1 on what Penelope said....and virtual hugs t...

You and Kaia should get together and talk about how awesome it would be if you could be diving, Barbara! Cozumel

I did 10 dives in Cozumel: Maracaibo, Columbia Shallows, Palancar Caves, Palancar Garden, Palancar Bricks, San Francisco, Cardona, Punta Tenich, Paso del Cedral, and Tormentos. My favorites were Maracaibo, the Palancar reefs, Punta Tenich, Tormentos, and Paso del Cedral (in the order of preference)....

Re: do i really need to service my atomic regs....

Trip update added to list of things to do. Just worried I might get sick from a bug at work...just my luck....frown. Really missed diving since moving out here..I mean an avg of twice+ a week to zilch is a huge change! It's worth the travel. Hmm...maybe I'll be able to report that I turned into a pr...

Re: Fly with or ship a scuba tank?

're coming out west, I've got tanks for you... Thanks for the offer! I might look you up! :) Will be there later in April. Bassman has seen a whole collection of tanks that have been confiscated for having valves in place. I recommend nothing at all over the end. Ouch!! That sux. Valve off is an ab...

Fly with or ship a scuba tank?

Is it better to ship a nitrox scuba tank rather than to fly with one under TSA requirements (remove valve and then ship an empty tank)....how strict is TSA re removing the valve piece? seems like a pain in the bum. :queenliz: <-- the cutest smilie i've seen on the board! awesome.

Re: Cozumel/ Cancun

Thanks for the heads up Lynn! I'll check out Scubaboard over the weekend. I wonder if I should bring my can light, or just a back-up/ back-ups. I miss diving in the PNW with laidback and real folks.

How have you been? :)

Cozumel/ Cancun

Wondering if anyone here have thoughts on dive operators and general diving in Cozumel/ Cancun in early May. Or what to do or not do. Should I find a dive shop once I get there, or do some planning before leaving? Thoughts??? Note, I plan to bring a 5mm full suit since I get cold easily; don't know ...

Re: Sharks Wary of Drunk Serbs

Yea - this totally cracked me up when I read it. Had to share, dunno if it's real or not. But entertaining. I went diving a times over the summer....in a lake, and it basically stinks. I was quite amazed at some of the folks who donned drysuits in humid 90*+ weather to go see a plane at 60'. AMAZING...
