Re: Scuba Jess pics
Great pictures! I would like to get into underwater photography, but for now I have been leaving the Go-Pro on the surface. I am working on locking down my skills now that I have my own dry suit. Maybe some day I will get a camera housing.
Thanks for posting your pictures.

Redondo six gill
Went to Redondo 9/2 and met up with some friends for an evening dive. This was my first trip to Redondo. The goal was to go down about 100ft hoping a six gill would come around. About 68ft I see something to my right and this female six gill comes in. She was 6-8ft. I have learned since that she was...

Re: Picked up more gear
I am very lucky that I have several. One of my friends is Richard Morton (Dive-tronix) who is a wealth of knowledge and if he doesn't know then he calls up someone who does. Point in case when I was looking at side mount he called his friend Jeff Christensen. Jeff has been great in also answering my...

Picked up more gear
At Underwater Sport's big sale I picked up a DUI 300 insulation, ordered two 80 and two 100. Both galvanized and left and right valves. Last Friday my dry suit came in and I was able to pick up the four cylinders. Now I just need to start getting my weight dialed in.

Going to try side mount for the first time
I have a friend that I knew from a non-diving group that is an instructor. May 20th I am going to try side mount with him. I know to get good like anything you need to try it multiple times. I am hoping I will get a good idea if I want to continue with side mount and if so after we get back from our...

Dam this would be awesome if we had not already gone to Belize and had another even bigger trip scheduled this year. Would so love to go as this is a bucket list item.

Re: Putt in my order for my dry suit
The first dry suit dive on a rental wasn't too good. The zipper was bad and leaked. I had to bail after about 19minutes I was shaking so bad I could see the gauge ticking down. I didn't do the second dive. The next time I did two dives and was good to go. Now I just need to work on buoyancy control.

Re: Back to diving after a long hiatus
No had issues from being bucked off horse, artillery, etc. I had a laminectomy about two years ago. Hoping I have not made it worse. I don't want a back fusion.
I was given a tens, but I have not figured out what I want to do "shave my back?".

Way back in the day When they had just come out I had a Zeagle Ranger and loved it. Now that I am getting back into diving I am going the route that NWBrewer is recommending.

Re: Back to diving after a long hiatus
The bad, in my refresher class I threw out my back when I stood up after tightening the tank strap. I was able to dive in the pool without pain, but as soo as I got out it hurt. I had to reschedule the dry suit class that had been the next day until 5th and open water 7,8. Two weeks later I am still...

Yeah My friend's dad was a Marine during WW2 on some of the beach landings. He also fought in Korea and lost his left arm.

If you like history, being a 4th Marines, you should check out the book Devil Dogs "Fighting Marines of World War 1". It puts a whole new light on some of the history we were taught in boot camp. It also makes you realize how hard these guys had it.

This is all great info. Part of making this work for us is making sure my wife is comfortable, so know this will help. I have become more of a wuss as I have gotten older, but will deal with more cold than my wife.

Re: Dry suit undergarments
Hi, Learning what I can about dry suits. I see the price of dry suit under garments and go ouch. I have hiking under garments an fleece that are made to keep you warm if you get wet and do not weigh a lot. Now th hiking stuff is not cheap either, but not in the range I have seen for dry suit underga...

I didn't think about a light because at this point we're not doing night diving. But you're saying a light is handy even during the day because of visibility?

Re: Travel Insurance
Besides the $100 for family, Do you need to purchase a separate trip insurance from Dan? Or are you just saying that right before that trip you got the enhanced insurance from them? Just trying to make sure that I'm not missing anything on their website. I read about your accent just the other day. ...

Re: Travel Insurance
I was going to get DAN as I always thought it was a good idea. They didn't have the enhanced when I was a member long ago, or I didn't know about it. I was going to do family enhanced.
Is there other insurance that it makes sense to get for a trip out of country?
Thanks
Martin
