good places to crab/clam dive on OR coast

Looking for good places to go crab and clam diving on the OR coast. Prefer in a bay or protected waters right now. How about Tillmook bay or Netarts? or ?? Any body have some god directions or GPS readings? I have a boat so can go after them. Thanks stan..

It appears that the Avons are the boats to have for open ocean diving. Would you feel comfortable taking you're boat out in winter? It seems that summer would be the time to go. Haystack we launched right off the beach at Pacific City. Doug used to do this a lot with a 14' inflatable, lots of fun, also went up to three arch rocks a few times from there also. I also have came down from tillmook bay and was towed back by the coast guard on that trip when the starter went out...

its a 5.4m avon rib but it only has a 35 hp merc on it for now . . . I am hoping for around 20 mph with 4 people and gear . . . I am interested in doing some of these sites when I get all my shiat together and get my boat finished. Its just about there, its a 5.4m avon rib but it only has a 35 hp merc on it for now. With two people in it and no dive gear it will do 25, took it out for a test run last sunday. I am hoping for ...

went down the coast this weekend from Astoria to Tilmook and saw lots of boats out fishing and crabbing, sure made me wish that all my gear was together and could get wet. Cannot wait to go out and get some crabs and clams \:D/ .

I went with the basic dive rite harness from liesure pro for $26 and went with the Hammer head stainless steel plate w/STA for $110 http://hammerheadbackplates.com/pricepoint.htm. I had the dive rite rec wing already. I could not tell you howit works though as I have not dove it yet :crybaby: .

I would go out and buy the best equipment out there :supz:

so after diving it a while you will relieze that you do not like that gear, switch to different gear and place ur lightly used gear up for sale cheap :axe:

Suit is on its way to Gamble Scuba, should be back in about 3 weeks with standerd shipping both way's. I am also getting a new dump valve and the legs shortend a couple of inches. Steve had some take offs in a hard boot in my size for a real good price.
