ISO: Weights!
Hello, I live in Seattle and am looking for used weights in any form. Ideally a belt and pouches but I'm none too picky. I have about 6 lbs and am looking to buy 24-26lbs, with some wiggle room as I dial in my suit. If you have old weights gathering dust I'd love to clear some garage space for yah :...

Re: Keystone 2/10
Looks like someone beat me to the vis report, pretty snowy. Keystone was great, first time out there. Plenty of spawning fauna (Dog Whelks, nudis, etc) on the Jetty with some interesting current conditions. Wharf had a thoroughly camouflaged GPO on one of the pilings. We must have watched it for 15 ...

Keystone 2/10
Sorry for the last minute post, some buddies and I are going to Keystone tomorrow (2/10) and I'm inviting anyone to join. Should be a pretty forgiving exchange around 11am, so leaving Seattle around 8. Maybe the jelly pools afterward!
DMs are welcome.

Re: New to PDX, looking for local buddies
Welcome aboard. I live in Seattle currently but grew up a bit north of you in Vancouver. Can't help as a buddy, but there are a few local sites I've been aware of/interested in. Probably worthwhile to call the shops in the area to see if they have shop dives and go from there. -Moulton Falls Natural...

Plenty of woofers, swarms of comb jellies, and some large stars. Fun day underwater!

Sund Rock 2/3
Hey y'all! A buddy and I are heading out to Hoodsport on Saturday, probably leaving Seattle around 7:30am.
Likely hitting up Sund Rock. Reach out with a DM if you're interested in joining.

Obstruction Pass 1/13
Some friends and I braved the weather this last weekend and had an amazing dive off of Orcas at Obstruction Pass/Brown Rock. Wind subsided and a great slack/minimal exchange held through most of the day despite some pretty heinous forecasts leading in. Surface temps were about 17, with water hoverin...

Re: San Juan/Orcas Diving
Side note, but several NOAA maps I'm looking at list SJI as having "localized magnetic disturbances" showing that Magnetic North is a bit off from normal. What's the deal with that? Don't panic when my compass feels a little off and take bearings as normal?

Re: San Juan/Orcas Diving
Don't worry everyone, we decided to leave the chum on shore so as to avoid the whales ;) Looking at tide/current predictions for 1/13 there appears to be a pretty forgiving slack with <2ft of exchange taking place midday. Talking with my dive crew the plan is as follows: Good surface conditions, two...

San Juan/Orcas Diving
Some friends and I are planning a long weekend on Orcas during the MLK weekend in January, hoping to bring our gear and get a dive or two in while we're out there. The group is average(?) experience, most are AOW with 30-40 cold water dives. From what I'm reading online, San Juan Island seems to be ...

ISO: Small Dry Suit
Hey y'all I'm a weird sized man looking for a dry suit as the seasons change. 5'6 and 135lbs with a size 9.5/10 boot. Apollos fit like I glove for reference. Open to either crushed neoprene or trilam. Budget is a newish diver looking for baby's first dry suit, not trying to break the bank. Thanks! :...

Need A Seattle Buddy 7/2-7/5
Hey y'all, Had a buddy with a family emergency occur, so I currently have rental gear I am looking to use over the following days but no one to go with. I am a newly certified driver and this would be dives 9 and 10. Interested in anything above 60fsw in the Seattle area (Alki, Edmonds, Mukilteo, et...

ISO Beginner Dive Gear (Seattle)
Hey y'all. Got my OW a few weeks ago and have been aiming for weekly dives. I am already trying to branch away from rental gear and want to begin assembling my personal setup ASAP. If you have functioning equipment you're looking to pass on (sell) to the next generation, I'm looking for: -1st Stage ...
