Re: Red Brotulas at Deadman's Wall (AKA Lobstershop Wall)

Hey! How did you manage a dive at les at 1 AM? Where did you park? For deadman's I park in the Lobstershop Parking lot. It can be tricky to get down the rock breakwater if the tide is low but not so bad at high tide. At les Davis, we just parked in the usual lot right at the water. I have never had...

Re: Another nice dive at Salt Water St Park

SWSP has a couple of things for shore divers to remember...

1. You will have a long walk or long swim, depending on the tide.

2. Showers are working but they will turn them off in the winter.

3. The park is only open from 830am-830pm. The ranger WILL throw you out.

Another nice dive at Salt Water St Park

I have been diving about once a week at SWSP. I want to document the changes that are occuring and to get to know the reef. I have dove on all 3 reefs and spend a lot of time going through and getting to know where things are. If you haven't been there, it is worth the PITA surface swim/walk to get ...

Re: Another new Saltwater SP dive site map!

All the buoys are gone now. Boaters were tying up to them. I talked to a ranger tonight and he said that they need to get back out and re-attach them, but the impression he gave me, they were not in a hurry to do so. It is really sad...It would suck for people to be illegally fishing in the park.

I would call and talk to Van at Orca Scuba in Wenatchee. That would be your closest air fill and he can give you the full 411 on where and how to best dive the lake.

Re: Dive Master & Instructors... forever a pro?

My agency makes it clear...if you go on inactive, you can reactivate, but after a number of years, paying dues and insurance isn't enough. Retraining is required. Also, if you step away from teaching, many dive centers, will require retraining and refreshing of standards and systems before you can s...

Early dive tomorrow at SWSP

If any of you are early risers and looking to dive on Sunday AM, we are meeting at Salt Water St Park at 830am. Both me AND my husband Tom are diving. It has been a while since he has been in the water, but he needs to dive before we head to Cocoview next month.

Don't let my staff get wind of this. They want to sink a vehicle in the worse kind of way. Right now, Dane's primer-paint Blazer is the front runner.

Awesome dive at Salt Water St Park

It had been months since my friend Mark and I went diving, so I thought I would introduce him to Salt Water St Park today. Kathy (luv2dive) and Tami (Smallrun) met us too and we jumped in this morning at 1030am. 2 other divers, Jessie and Mike dropped in about 10 minutes before us. A bit of a swim, ...

He just couldn't get words out and he promised he would call me later. (Keith...sorry for waking you up. Hope you will forgive me.) Bill just...

Re: Summer Solestice Dive, Saturday 20 June

We had a great turnout and was a lot of fun. I dove with Ellyn, one of our divemasters. We did a very simple profile, just followed the line down and we dove out to the geodome. In all the years I have dove at Redondo, I have never seen so many ratfish. At one point, we had 6 following our light aro...

It has been about 10-12 years since I have been down there but the diving and snorkeling are very limited. The beaches are beautiful in front of the resorts and are great to walk on. The water is a bit rough for swimming. It is a beautiful place and very romantic. :luv:

Quake update...from Honduras

I got this from a "Coconut" who gets regular updates from friends who live on Roatan... You probably heard about the big quake in Honduras. I got an update from Coco View. The quake was centered aprox 27 miles from Roatan. The resort suffered minor damage, some plumbing was damaged, a coup...
