Re: Putting OW students in drysuits

I prefer teaching students in drysuits. They are more comfortable and happier divers. Most divers who continue to dive in Puget Sound eventually get a drysuit for comfort and warmth, so why torture students with being cold and wet?

Re: Quality local dry-suit repair

Another thing to note. When they tested my suit they found that there was some cracking on the zip seal rings. I hadn't noticed anything and they weren't leaking, but they put on new rings and gave me a new pair of zip dry gloves and liners free of charge and marked it "repaired under warranty...

Re: ALERT: Les Davis Dive Gear THIEF (Tacoma)

So...just so everyone knows, he is not a thief. I am pretty sure, based on the physical and car description, someone who, with his brother, got certified about a year ago. Neither of them have been in the water (as far as we know) in about 6-8 months. He called us in December looking to get back in ...

Re: Gear for a newbie??

As someone who does not dive yet, purchasing dive gear is a scary and expensive thing. As tempting as it may be, as an instructor, I would strongly recommend staying away from Craig's List . It can be tempting and there are some good deals out there, but you do not know what you are buying, and whil...

Thanks everyone! We are selling everything including the compressor and nitrox membrane system.

Not sure what I am going to do next, but if anyone has any ideas for a soon to be unemployed dive store owner, let me know.

Re: Operator recommendations "around" Nanaimo

If you are in Vancouver, I would also recommend going up the Sunshine Coast and a stay at Strong Water Resort. Still, my favorite place to dive in BC and very economical. I did some calling around today regarding diving around Nanaimo. (Our Feb trip with Diver's Choice is now on hold) The rumor from...

Tom,

Because of its proximity to Les Davis, I would imagine that you would list it as Les Davis. That is my best educated guess.

he is almost identical to your friend's measurements (including shoe size) and he has a CF200X in size L and it fits him perfectly. He wears Fourth Element undergarments, or occasionally a Weezle. Hope this info helps. I have a CF 200 size large in rental. I have a couple of my staff who are pretty...

Re: The hunt for altitude

I have about 20-25 logged. I need 20 to direct apply to PADI to teach, but I will go through our CD to get certified when I am ready. Honestly, I would just like to get more dives in, get to know WHERE to altitude dive locally, get more knowledge and experience. People ask about altitude diving all ...

The hunt for altitude

I love to lake dive. It gets the gear really clean and the visibility is amazing. I know a lot of lakes are void of life in comparison to the Sound, but it is still fun. I was up at Lk Crescent a few weeks ago and it was awesome. I only know of one 1 lake close by that have easy access into that is ...

Re: DUI ZipSeals neck ring system

I like them better now, than when I first got mine 5 years ago. I found that the latex didn't seem to hold up as well as a standard latex seal. Not sure why, but the neckseal kept splitting, straight down. The newer ones seem to hold up a lot better and after seeing them being used at DOG days, I wa...

You may have an allergy to latex. You could also replace the latex seal with a neoprene seal.

Re: Do cyborgs dream of electric underwear?!

I didn't get a chance to dive the electric undergarment, but I tried the gloves. They were pretty amazing. The entire glove was heated and warm within 20 seconds. What is a selling point for me, as a recreational diver is the thin undergarment, along with a lightweight suit. It will allow divers to ...

Re: Drysuits: What did I buy?

We eventually got fitted up, me in the CF 200x, she in the TLS 350. We got paired up with a DM, Dane from A2Z, who was great, and we dove. I dropped 8 pounds of weight from what I have to wear with my monstrous suit of hate, and it turns out I could have dropped 2-4 pounds more. Amazing! Plus I act...

Re: GB Church wreck

I dove it about 4 years ago with my husband. One of my favorite artificial reef dives and probably my favorite in BC. The white anemones made it almost glow. Lots of large rockfish and a GPO on the bow. It was beautiful. Wish I had a camera.

Did you try REI? They have the largest selection of clips I have ever seen. It seems to me about 4-5 years ago, I bought a 1.5 clip in there.

One of our divers lost an Atomic mask there yesterday. It was red with a black skirt with a blue slap strap. If anyone finds it, please give me a call at the shop. Thanks!
