Free in Seattle - Underwater Photographer 3rd ed. - M. Edge

This is in used but good condition, with some highlighting. It deals mostly with film photography but much of it is still relevant. To be picked up in Capitol Hill or handed at a TBD mutually convenient time & place.

I can bring some kalbi ribs to cook on the grill. Or would something cold fit better?

Re: Club Dive! Club Dive! NWDC Invades Sund Rock! 09/06/2014

I'm going to come. I'd like to carpool if possible. I'm in Seattle, and I can drive and take one or 2 divers with me. I have a VW Jetta Wagon, and I'm not sure I could take more people with their tanks. Alternatively I'd be happy to join another driver. Not sure yet what I'll bring. I'll post an upd...

Curious - how much time does it take from Seattle? Also, how many dives do people do typically?

Tide forecast in the San Juans?

All,

Where can I find a tide forecast for the San Juan islands (mostly interested in Decatur)?

Thanks,

Multiday tank rental in Anacortes

All - I'm looking for a recommendation for a shop in Anacortes where I could rent some filled tanks for several days. I will be staying on Decatur island and will not be able to return the tanks right away.

Thanks,

JD

What time do those typically end? I'm interested but need to coordinate with my partner here.

Re: Renting a portable compressor?

Thanks all. It seems clear that this is not going to be doable. Too bad - we're renting a small house in an isolated part of Decatur island, and I would have loved to find a way to dive.

Renting a portable compressor?

Does anyone know of a way to rent a portable compressor in the greater Seattle area?

Re: Where to buy a 5mm wetsuit in Seattle?

The point is to try the suit before I order it. If the store has to special order a suit, there's absolutely no advantage in going local. And I want a 5mm.

Where to buy a 5mm wetsuit in Seattle?

I'm going to hit Underwater Sports to see their selection, but based on the site they have 2 models. Therefore, I'm wondering where else I should go to try and eventually buy a wetsuit.

Thanks,

JD

Re: Snorkeling in the San Juans? Worth a new skin?

We're going to be next to the Sylvan cove, on the West side (but facing North, it's opposite from Brigantine Bay). It's very good access to the water, I just don't know if there's anything to see *in* the water.

Snorkeling in the San Juans? Worth a new skin?

All, I am a lapsed diver, and I haven't dived in 6 years. I am going to spend a week on Decatur (in the San Juans) island this Summer, with a number of non-diving family members. Diving is going to be out, but I could conceivably do a lot of snorkeling. It would require that I buy a new suit (7mm at...

Actually, one thing I'm wondering about is the money issue. Should I carry mostly Thai Bahts? Or do most business take plastic? If cash is king, what's the most efficient way to get it (ATM from my debit card I suppose...)?

Thanks,

Most important features for underwater camera?

All, I'm looking for a good P&S camera with a diving case available that supports either RAW (preferably) or TIFF formats, i.e., uncompressed formats. I have a D-SLR, but I don't feel ready to invest the $$$ and effort to use this. I'd like to know which features are critical / nice to have when...
