Re: Diving Physical

The dive physicals that I have taken are pretty basic. Blood work, cholesteral check, eye exam, ear exam, chest X ray. The only real change that I remember is called a spirometer test. This test checks you lung capacity and efficiency, it also checks your lungs for blockages. I have seen two types o...

Bob

Thanks for the thoughts. I am about a month or so away from this purchase. When I get the camera I may pick your brain. Your pictures are great!

Do you have any ideas for a local underwater photography class?

G10?

I am looking for a camera. I would to hear from the people shooting the Canon G10. Which housing did you choose? The Ikelite or the Fisheye? Did anybody buy the Ikelite 200 over the 160, if so why? Do you shoot most of your photos in RAW? Do you have anything you don't like about your setup? I have ...

Look for a great instructor. Bdub, Grateful Diver, Don Kinney, and Nicole Pratt all have great reputations. If your near Portland check out Seven Sea's Scuba if your looking for a shop.

Re: Diving Physical

Providence has a hyperbaric medicine deptartment. They are local and are tied in with DAN. You also might try Tualatin Valley Fire. They also do dive physicals.

I know that neither of these are through Kaiser but they might point you in the right direction.

Re: Looking for Advice about spring straps

Definitely get them from a shop. That way you know you have the right size and all that. I buy some stuff online, but something like this that you need an exact fit needs to be done in person. I agree. I have a couple of different drysuits, some for work and some for play. The spring lengths are di...

Sund Rock 7/13

I had 2 great dives today at Sund Rock. I got to tag along with Tom (TomNic) and Bill (BnbOly). The dives were relaxed and slow paced. We covered the North Wall looking for photos. The water temp was about 55 degrees. Each dive lasted about 70 minutes. We saw multiple wolfies and octos on eggs, but ...

Re: Lake Dives around Portland/Vancouver

I have heard stories that I can't confirm about Lake Billy Chinook. The story is that before they flooded that area there was a campground and a Boy Scout Camp there. I have heard at about 80 feet there are huts, a childs playground, and the campground is still there. If anyone has any info I would ...
