Re: question on frog kicking
I find it much more comfortable and less effort. In low current situations I frequently frog kick mostly from the ankles. I've never felt strain on my knees.

Re: Drysuit Glove System - Which is best?
There are two orings you can use for the bayonet. It sounds like you might have the thicker hazmat orings. I would suggest going down a bit in the thickness (my set came with both thicknesses). I tried the tricker oring a few times and had trouble myself.

Re: Drysuit Glove System - Which is best?
I'm suprised to hear anyone say they don't like the Viking Bayonet System. I'm not sure what you don't like about them, but I'd be interested to hear DiverBob. I have not used the cuff rings, only the bayonet system.

Re: Drysuit Glove System - Which is best?
+5000 on the Viking Bayonet rings. I use them with $4 pvc gloves from the fishery supply store (thicker and smaller than the harbor freight sand blasting gloves). They are easy to don and doff, never leak, can be used with or without wrist seals and are super durable.

Re: 1/30/12 MMM Who's in?
I'm going to have to back out for dives 2/3 today. A work related release that was supposed to happen yesterday got bumped to this evening, and so I'm on the hook to sit in a conference call and wait for a green light before I can twiddle a few bits. Meh.

Re: Zeagle XTech question..
Speaking from personal experience, wings that are designed to be used with single tanks and doubles are marginal at best for each configuration. +1 to BDub's comment. I finally got around to replacing my dive right rec-wing, which was billed as a "good for both" type wing. In a doubles co...

Congratz! If you need help weighting it, just let me know. I weighted mine (Sierra) based on their tables, and then had to do fine tuning after that. You may want it nose-heavy and tail light, etc. I still need to weight mine properly for fresh as well.

We saw the lumpie on dive #2 and there was also a very impressive adult GPO out in the open as well. Dive 3 was also lots of fun.

Re: Halloween MMM
I *really* do want to dive, but it is Halloween (didn't think of that when I mentioned previously I intended to dive this monday). I'm going to be going door-to-door with my 4 little ghouls! That said, I would be interested in a dive some other day.

Re: Drysuit wrist seals, a tough DYI?
I just used Dap contact cement. Worked great, total time, about 15 minutes. Is that heat activated or is there a solvent in case I "mess up"? :) Does anyone have a favorite place to buy wrist seals? I'd prefer latex bottle neck seals. I've found a pair for $24 plus ~$11 shipping online. A...

Drysuit wrist seals, a tough DYI?
I need to replace the wrist seals on my bare trilam tech hd drysuit. The original latex bottleneck seals developed some serious holes near the trilam on one side and the other is going. I guess I have two options, replace the seals, or remove them and glue on my viking bayonet dryglove ring system w...

Liquivision batteries
I am looking for a good place to get the batteries for the liquivision xen/xeo. liquivision is pretty particular about using the ER14335M (vs the ER14335). The spec sheets on those two batteries show they are the same form-factor (2/3AA) but the M version is 1.35Ah vs 1.65Ah, but supports a higher (...

Re: MMM 9/26
Oh man, epic dive 2. My first dive in about 6 weeks (due to the new baby and other circumstances). Forgot my hood, had a substantial hole in my wrist seal (completely flooded), etc. The awesome part was the bio-lumiesence. Oh, my, word. Matt and I basically shut off our lights and scootered around f...

Re: MMM 09/19/2011
I'm still steaming, but I can post now. I got home 30 mins early today. My wife got my tanks filled and met me at the park and ride (I still don't have my truck back). She got a flat on the way to the park and ride that I changed and on the way home the spare went flat... I think some cosmic power w...

Oh gosh. I remember about a month ago not seeing the octo or the eggs under the boat. A week previous they were all there, the following week nothing. I guess I just assumed they got eaten? *shrug*

MMM 09/19/2011
I'm getting back on the saddle now that baby William is 2 weeks old. I'm itching to get some diving in, so who is in for MMM this coming Monday? I am only going to be available for dive 2 and 3 at the Diamond Knot. Who's in and for what?
