Re: Hello from a new member!
Howdy, We had a new member asking the same questions about the Oregon Coast last week or the week before. He posted in his introduction and again in the Oregon forum. He was looking for Oregon Coast dive charters. I think Eugene Skin Diver's Dive club hooked him up with the charter they put together...

Re: New Member Wants to Dive in Tillamook Area in Sept or sooner! What is closest diving Charter and boat on OR Coast to
Hmmm, closest dive charter boat to the Oregon coast? Bandito in Tacoma? Seriously there are no regular dive charter boats on the Oregon coast. A few fishing charter boats will sometimes take divers. However, divers need to show up with their own dive masters that has insurance. The ladders for getti...

Re: Hyperbaric trip experience/getting bent call for insight
Way back in the day when I ran a chamber we always ran the full treatment table. The only modification we would do was maybe run a longer table if the med tech said to. The fact they ran the whole table is standard procedure. Some other factors to think about are rest and hydration. I would also agr...

Re: Cleaning Boat Hull
Bill pretty much covered bottom paints. I would like to add that marinas are a dangerous place to dive. Stray electrical current kills. It is most dangerous in fresh water. If you have done so yet you want to make sure you check your zincs. Some marinas are hotter than others. A hot marina will eat ...

Hi Melissa,
It is about time you posted. I think you need a photo of you in your nice new drysuit on here. Oh and make no mistake people diving in a wetsuit did not slow Melissa down much over the last few years. She is an active experienced warm and cold water diver.

NW Diving History Association
In our effort to collect and preserver the history of diving in the NW we have been collecting oral history interviews with people that started diving in the 1950's 60's and early 70's. We have just put up a new set of interviews. Harry Truitt of Light House Diving is interviewed by Bruce Higgins fr...

I will be there with the Northwest Diving History Association. We will be collecting oral histories from local divers that started diving in the 50's and 60's or before. I think I have 6 one hour interview slots left. If you know anyone in the Seattle area we should interview pm me their contact inf...

Re: Dive show/H2O show in Seattle/Tacoma
Here is the way I see it. If we want to continue to have a NW Dive Expo we need to participate. If we do not participate the vendors will quit participating. Yes last year was small and that will continue if we do not as a dive community participate. If you want to continue to have an event were the...

I think Spence Campbell who did dive the Cobb Sea Mount in either the late 70s or early 80s is writing about it in his new book.
This is his last book about swimming the length of the Columbia River.

Like Fritz said diving is only the way you commute to work. Diving is not the job. DIT will give you rudimentary working skills underwater. However, you will be much better off if you already have a skill they will pay you to do underwater. I am glad I went to DIT even if I didn't stay with the indu...

Re: Bandito lawsuit?
The lawyer seems to defend big companies and it's strange that he has not named a specific individual as dive leader and and a scuba agency as defendants - suing an out of business outfit and a boat captain doesn't seem a good strategy to make a quick buck.[/quote] According to the article SSI is na...
