Never had a reg freeze period. I have had a power inflator freeze up in Plura (2C). The BC nipple froze on too

Has never been found. Also not sure she's intact enough to actually find given the EXTENSIVE efforts to look for her over the past 15 years

Re: Hypothetical Question (sorta): What do you do if you find a firearm while diving?
Found a cheap semi-auto pistol in a case off Duwamish Head about 10 years ago. Called 911, told them it was a non-emergency. Patrol officer came by about 25mins later and took it. Guns in the water were part of a crime, you don't want to be holding onto evidence which may be a key element to solving...

Re: Possession Point - Tech Dive?
Interestingly the bathymetry shows the bottom continuing well past 200 to 300 feet in general, really quite shockingly deep. I am not qualified or interested to venture quite that far down, but I could imagine a tech-equipped dive being appropriate for anything involving much time below 30 metres, ...

The ebb is when you find the most pronounced currents at saltwater being on the outside of the "bend". SW winter storm/winds can exacerbate this

have not heard anything good about santi's in a long time despite their cult following. failed fabric, failed seams, crazy long repair times ugh

Re: Dive site mooring
cleaning is not the issue it's the lines chaffing and the buoy breaking loose.
1" line and the 1/2" 18-10 chain is expensive too, never mind the actual new buoy.

Re: Dive site mooring
WSA is really just a couple of (active) people who I suspect are exhausted. I know they have been focused on habitat and reef structures lately and there's probably no (grant) money to maintain the buoys like there was to install them. There are a whole bunch of non-profits struggling with the same ...

Interesting, they took down the link They aren't maintaining them either sadly The only one I use regularly is on Brinnon PInnacle, as of a month ago its still there and in good condition

Sadly you are going to be disappointed in the cave diving - depending on your experience/level and willingness to drive a very long way for a very short highly weather dependent season (16hrs of travel from Portland, June-Sept only, and even then only do-able if it doesnt rain)

Re: Eelgrass in Tacoma
The beach south of redondo boat ramp and salt water state park are your best bets at 0.5/zero or lower tides. There is some eel grass in from of the access points west of the crab shack along the Tacoma waterfront (Ruston Way) but you will need an extreme low tide to see it, like -2. Its going to ta...

I have 2 extra tanks kicking around that you can have for cheap. #1 is a faber mid pressure 72. Historically a 3300psi tank but doesn't have a REE stamped on it so hard to plus rate nowadays. 3000psi without a plus. Heavy negative and short (stubby) tank similar dimensions to an 3442psi hp 80 nowada...

The crotch on my finally leaked after about 350(?) dives. The neoprene just craps out eventually and was full of pinholes.
Hated the ankle vents but you can unscrew the caps, stretch out the springs and disable the venting.

The boat was expected to sink in about 80-90 feet of water, Read said. It's carrying about 300 gallons of diesel fuel and 12 gallons of oil, and private divers have been hired to secure the fuel, according to the State Department of Ecology. private Divers ....I wonder How much they get paid ? $$$$...

Vancouver island limestone/marble is all basically in the same chunk. It was laid down in the arctic many millions of years ago (much older than FL or Mx limestone) back when Pangea was the lone continent on the planet. The tectonic plates broke apart and drifted around, that particular plate drifte...

This is not far from the hamlet of Woss, although the "roads" are terrible and its over an hour of crawling to get in there from highway 19. And many truck scratches... There's about 900-1,000ft of cave before getting into trimix depths. Max depth is 132ft, total there is about 1900ft of c...
