Re: Looking for steel 120+

Then you want a 119 not a 120. A 119 is 8" diameter and 2.5 inches shorter than an 130 (also a 8" diameter). A 117 is the same size as a 119 also the same dimensions as a lp95.

a hp120 is 7.25" in diameter and long.

Re: Looking for steel 120+

Those are really different tanks

120 is very tall and skinny - unless you are 6ft+ you might have a tough time with these.

130 is modestly tall and fat - fairly easy diving tanks except for the weight issue.

Re: Scuba mask for a narrow face + large nose combo?

Not sure about the nose pocket, but I have found that scubapro masks seem to fit my narrow face well.

Most other brands are too wide and/or flat sealing for me.

Solas New Saturn #3331-111-13, right rotation, 3 blade, diameter 11-1/8, pitch 13

Interesting and what would your max unloaded speed be with that?

Re: 15.5' Inflatable Dive Boat, $5500

I'm running a solas aluminum 4 blade. The 3 blade didn't have enough bite in turns and I could ventilate fairly easily turning while loaded. Loaded for me is 8 cylinders and 3 or 4 bodies.

They duo props should have slip bushings just like a regular outboard. In case of a log or rope

Re: Swimmer's ear remedy

If you mix some glycerin in with the alcohol its not so drying. Straight alcohol will make your ear canal super red and raw - I tried that in MX when I had an actual infection years ago and I think it might have actually made it worse.

Re: Attached Drysuit Boots Cause Floaty Feet?

(I'm the original poster) My dive buddy thinks she may have seen people with straps around their boots to (we presume) lessen the boot volume. Has anyone heard of this? They smush down DUI turbo soles which are like a sock with a flat sole glued on the bottom. They wont squish out the air of the Yu...

72s

I have two galvanized 72s for sale. Both recent hydros (jan and march 18), new vips, both with brand new DGE 200 bar DIN valves (never wet), currently full of air. Hydro and valve alone are worth $75. DGE DIN valves don't come with yoke conversion plugs but I can dig some up for you if you want them...

Re: Attached Drysuit Boots Cause Floaty Feet?

It might seem counterintuitive but your tank and BC and where you're carrying your lead actually plays a big part in what your feet feel like. "Heavy heavy" is really just another way of saying "feet light". So I would look at everything. 2lbs at the end of your legs is a HUGE am...

Re: Steel 119 Tanks

Yes 119s are 8" diameter tanks, same dimensions as lp95s, and same dimensions as the 117. Weights and buoyancies are different, but not drastically http://www.indianvalleyscuba.com/services%20page/Tank%20Inspection/information/CYLINDER%20SPECIFICATIONS.pdf The 120 is a 7.25" diameter tank ...

Re: Small tide change better visibility ???

For most of our shore sites (and many of the boat sites) visibility is worst on a low tide. Vis is also awful during winter storms, the closer you are to a river the worse it is. And during blooms which intermittently extend from March until about August. (no reliable way to predict these like tides...

Re: Help - Water gettin in Hollis wing

Might you need another pound or two of lead? I get water in my BCD when I dive so light that I am struggling to get the last of the air out. +1 Trying to squeeze out the last drops of gas from the wing by continually venting is the number 1 way lots of water goes in. If its not leaking air the wate...

Re: The ROCK ...

Nice pics and write-up!
We always called that site to the east of the rock itself "Shangri-La". If you ever wanna try buddy boating, I could look into free weekends. But if you come all that way for cripes sake check the tank pressures before you leave the shop! :D
