Re: Gear

AL67? I've never seen one, do you know who made them and where I could find specs? Do you know their birthdates?

(I know of Al63s and AL72s but no 67s)

Re: Spearfishing in seattle area

Not to mention all the central (and south) puget sound species have A LOT more contaminants than their cousins in the Straits.

Light Monkey backup light wanted

Does anyone have one of these to sell?
http://www.lightmonkey.us/2-watt-led

I need one for a specific project. They are $105 new, but let me know what you think yours is worth based on condition. Batteries not required.

Welcome :)
Where are you located? Being in Kitsap I mostly dive in Hood Canal and west sound sites. We might have room on the boat for you sometime.

Re: Who wants to upgrade from a Perdix AI

Lol good luck with your search, this model is far too new to find anyone replacing it unless they are hanging up their fins. And used will be close to retail at this point/ A petrel 1 on the other hand is fairly straightforward but non-AI

Re: Triton Cove Pinnacle

I have dived that triton pinnacle. It’s awesome! We went at a negative low tide and anchored at the high spot like 115’. There are massive wall ledges that staircase down in to the abyss of hood canal. Many medium sized cloud sponges all over and giant old rockfish too, red brots in the cracks and ...

Re: Triton Cove Pinnacle

Different pinnacle lol.
As I recall I heard the triton pinnacle was a nothingburger. Probably due to a drastic lack of O2 down there a big chunk of the year. So I haven't been especially motivated to even look. Would love to see video of it though.

The Pulali one is buoyed. A great scooter dive.

The Triton one Scott Boyd did years ago but I don't recall if he found anything worth seeing

Re: Local flight with a scuba tank - is it doable?

I would use the lp85s provided. One thing not mentioned is that the boats down there frequently give really wet fills. So plan on needing to have your cylinders tumbled when you return, they are likely to have rust in them.

Re: Water in SPG Gauge

There's usually a large oring that seals the clear (plastic or glass) face to the body. Those are the prime failure points. In theory you can disassemble a glass&brass one, clean out the insides and replace that oring. But nobody ever does because spgs are cheap and it would take hours and speci...

Re: Looking for steel 120+

Then you want a 119 not a 120. A 119 is 8" diameter and 2.5 inches shorter than an 130 (also a 8" diameter). A 117 is the same size as a 119 also the same dimensions as a lp95.

a hp120 is 7.25" in diameter and long.

Re: Looking for steel 120+

Those are really different tanks

120 is very tall and skinny - unless you are 6ft+ you might have a tough time with these.

130 is modestly tall and fat - fairly easy diving tanks except for the weight issue.

Re: Scuba mask for a narrow face + large nose combo?

Not sure about the nose pocket, but I have found that scubapro masks seem to fit my narrow face well.

Most other brands are too wide and/or flat sealing for me.
