¡Feliz cumpleaños!

I'm waiting for the Canon SD980IS. Cardiver has an SD960 and I'm fairly impressed with the HD video.

Re: Eye of a grunt sculpin

I had a bad feeling when I saw the quality of the video: no shaking, even lighting, good fps, etc. It looks like it's 3K just for the camera and housing, let alone all the lights. So its actually a real treat to have you all here to share them with.... THANKS!!!! If you film & share Sunrise, DIW...

The 22oz Mac & Jack's African Amber helped my spirits after the dive. I'm curious what the cardiver gang's gonna find at Redondo today

Re: The Diamond Knot

Thanks for sharing, you captured the "mood" very well. Seeing your and lljames' videos made me realize how cool UW video can be. And that with UW video gear you get what you pay for. :) My little P&S produces disgusting VGA videos, thus I never film anything.

Laura,

both videos that you posted recently are great. What video/camera setup do you have?

Thanks!

Re: uwatec smartCOM - contacts not working

Narkd,
thanks for the toothpaste suggestion. It worked! The contacts must've been oxidized. The computer was dry for a few weeks prior to the dives where I noticed that the contacts didn't work.

Re: uwatec smartCOM - contacts not working

I tried everything. Contacts dry, contacts wet, licked my fingers vigorously. It used to start when I washed it in the bathtub after dives, but not anymore. But then again, it starts when I turn on the air. Bizarre...

uwatec smartCOM - contacts not working

It's a comp with integrated air. The computer works when under pressure (air turned on). I just cannot use the contacts to navigate through the menu.

Any idea what may be wrong? (And how many $$ to fix?)

Thanks,
Felix

Re: 7/23/09 THURSDAY!

I'd be interested in the second and third dives. But I don't think I can make it to Redondo by 7pm unless I find a carpool. So, anybody else from th Eastside heading there?

Let me check with Benoit. We're on a mission to find the bloody boat At TTN, but we could postpone that if the currents are right for DIW

Fish hiding in sand. What is it?

I read one of the recent threads here and I'm thinking this is a female scaly sculpin. Correct? You can judge its size by comparison to the (hermit?) crab in the upper left corner.

I love TTN, I see something new every time I dive there.

Thanks

3-4" small. Saw it at TTN during the safety stop. I have seen such fish in shallow water before. Thanks
